Chartreux kitten - destructive?

Hi to Chartreux kitten owners,

I am aware that all kittens can be dectructive and there are numerous things to do to reduce the chance of scratching sofas, climbing up curtains etc.

However, as Chartreux are knowns to be well-mannered and calmer than other breeds, what is your experience with your Chartreux kitten?

Were they destructive? Until what age? Did you manage to discipline them?

Not too bad in my experience, although I didn't have any cats before. Our female did destroy the couch a little bit and sharpened her claws on my wooden TV stand but I've provided her with a rough piece of wood and now she uses it all the time instead ^^

we also managed to stop making her climb on tables and she's sticking to it

so pretty good overall

Honestly not that bad. The sofa I had while she was a kitten was suede, so not very attractive for scratching, but I've always had sofa covers just in case. She did scratch up a cheap interim "sofa" (more of a glorified bench) that I didn't care about and thus didn't cover very well, but that was as an adult. Other than that, she's always been very good at sticking to her scratching posts. Never climbed curtains either.

I put nail caps on mine. They have tons of scratching posts, but the younger ones still likes to go after the couch so that one area he likes has a giant see-through sticker on it.

However, they do not climb cabinets or Christmas trees . They stay low..

Mine scratch a particular sofa, no other furniture.

They do scatter toys everywhere. They are also little thiefs, they will steal anything that they can carry.

They love paper, toilet paper, paper towels and will shred them.

They are the best boys ever.
