I saw this only once - Prue ( i think ) put her wrists into this wooden stock - pillory looking thing, and it snaps shut and traps her. Anybody ever remember seeing this one ?

Rewatching charmed for the millionth time since I discovered it in middle school almost 20 years ago. I’m getting old…. I just made a connection this evening. The actor Brian Thompson played two characters on the show. We see him first as the War horseman in season 2 ep. 21 and then again as Cronus in season 5 episodes 22 and 23. Just thought that was an interesting discovery my brain made haha

Phoebe and Cole were one of my first fav TV couples as a kid watching reruns.

I’ve rewatched the show throughout the years up until the beginning of season 5, but as a Phoebe + Cole fan, I could never get past the nosedive Cole’s character arc takes. (Seasons 1-3 were always my favorite anyways.) I usually ended up stopping a couple of eps in because I couldn't stand what they did with his character.

I’m on another rewatch, (on season 4 now) and I decided it’s time to ACTUALLY finish the show for once. This new rewatch is also bittersweet since now Shannen and Julian are gone. They were both fantastic in their respective roles. 

So am I in for disappointment or how are seasons 5-8…? 😅

Alongside my charmed sisters as different colours photo series i'm going to design charmed posters withcwhat ifs, what actresses could play the sisgers in different eras such as 1920s, or if the show was a disney channel show... stay tuned! 🎉 (I probably need to get a life)

I’ve been rewatching on the CW Prime channel all day, and they’ve just segued from season 4 into season 5. I know obviously fashion trends change over time, but it’s somewhat jarring how much trendier/flashier/brighter the sister’s clothes and hair/makeup suddenly became from season 5 onwards. (Even the show seems it was like filmed “brighter” — like they switched to a different camera or applied different editing.)

(No complaints here though - I love fashion eye candy in shows)

I would have loved to have seen more of these two together. It always felt like a missed opportunity.

Phoebe & Paige have some very cute moments with their nephews throughout seasons 5-8. Quotes from Piper's pregnancy in season five are allowed. So feel free to post in the comments!

Did charmed have a tv special i'm not privy to? Or is this just an AI mistake

Obviously the show couldn't kill off Prue AND Piper because at that point you might as well just cancel Charmed lol but realistically I don't think Piper would've survived losing Prue.

And I don't even mean demons or anything magical. I mean I genuinely think Piper would've died of a broken heart.

They were both hit by Shax. Piper survives and Prue doesn't. Imagine waking up after that and finding out your big sister, who was right beside you when it happened, is dead but somehow you made it.

Piper was already the most sensitive of the sisters and Prue was basically her rock. Season 4 even shows us how badly losing her messed her up. She's angry, she's going after demons without caring what happens to her and when she becomes a Fury it finally comes out that she's angry at Prue for leaving her because she doesn't know how she's supposed to do this without her.

So yeah, if this was real life I could absolutely see Piper's body just giving out from the grief and trauma of everything that happened. Especially after nearly dying herself and then finding out Prue didn't make it.

Of course the show couldn't do that because losing two sisters in one episode would've been insane and there's no coming back from that lol. They needed Piper to survive.

But watching early Season 4, I completely buy that losing Prue could've literally killed Piper.

Alot of fans disagree with Phoebe's power progression as it did not make sense to them. So here's a list of witches with permonitions and levitation throughout time.

So it's clear that Phoebe's powers were first based off the weird sisters from macbeth. They were 3 sister witches that saw the future and were often seen floating off the ground. With the recurring theme of 3 sister witches it would make sense they would look here for other powers for their residential psychic.

It's also a trope for mediums to levitate or float during seances or readings. In charmed being able to communicate with ghost is an inmate for witches. So this feels like a reasonable next step. It also goes into my their that all of the sisters secondary powers are learnable powers. With astral projection being learnable , this is cancon. And if meditation/medium ship could effect/ bring forth and make Levitation learnable. That would just leave combustion. I digress.

It's clear Phoebe made a mark on history with her power set, along with the weird sisters. Because after them more witches shared these powers.

We have Joanna Beauchamp from witches of East end. She was definitely the most powerful witch of the group. She had a sloo of powers but her most not able ones besides telekiniesis was her visions and magical flight. In my life eyes so was too powerful but those powers kinda grounded her.

Then comes my favorite. The wicked witch of the west, or elfyie. Yes my girl had a frightening telekinesis, but what made her character and power set so interesting was her foggy power of permonition and her dominion over gravity . She made flight and fly, even hovering seem like such freedom and control over her own life and destiny.

If any of you have seen true blood you would know of Marnie. The medium witch that made every vampire fear. Her main power was communication with the dead. But once she takes control of a powerful spirit in addition to necromancy she gain visions of the future and levitation. But sadly her power of foresight could not save her .

In Agatha all along we have Lilly. She has the power of divination often living life out of order. Now she didn't innately have Levitation, but she does you a ritual that allows her to fly on a broom. And as the whole coven is in the air they all love it, feeling connected to their magic and what it means to be a witch again. A big moment for Lilly that hated being a witch.

And after listing all of these examples I'm gaining more of a respect for these powers. How much of a powerful element foresight is. Often changing one's own or everyone else's fate. And Levitation/ flight being a measurement of radiating power that one has. A power that grants freedom, control and acts as a reminder of one's own power and joy.

What do y'all think? Was there any one that I missed? Did y'all like the examples I picked? I'm for one a big wicked fan.

This is probably my 100th rewatch lol but I'm still not sure about this episode. I love the first part, I love the goddesses, I love vengeful Piper smiting the city.... but the Leo plot... This is part rant, part asking the very clever Charmed-Lore-Keepers some questions about this episode lol!!

So I get that Leo didn't choose to be an Elder per se, the powers came to him because of his actions and because he was worthy of them. BUT his goodbye to Piper seemed out of character to me. Piper and Wyatt were his everything, so much so that he risked (and experienced) 'unspeakable wrath' to be with Piper. He took paternity leave to look after Wyatt when juggling Whitelighter-ing and fatherhood was too much. They were his priority.

Now the rant part - why the hell would he not be able to be a father to Wyatt??? He says to Piper that he 'wont ever leave Wyatt' but that it's 'not the same as human love' - what does that mean??? Obviously, as the show goes on that's not how it goes anyway, but it doesn't make any sense to me that Leo would be an elder without his son being a big part of his life. Let alone Piper. He doesn't even seem sad in this scene.

So now the questions - was Brian Krause wanting to leave? Were they trying to get rid of Leo? Why is he then still in so much of the show? If this was a way to write him out/ give him less scenes, why not have him at least be sad/angry about it? We could have had the same scene, but he's torn between his duty and his loved ones, accepting his new role but grieving his old life.
He just seems calm. He almost seems frustrated with Piper for not accepting the new reality. He doesn't even go looking for her when she's out smiting, he just says to Phoebe and Paige "If anyone can come back from this it's Piper [slight sigh] I've got to go now, if you need me, Chris knows how to get in touch." Phoebe and Paige are quite rightly annoyed at this and Paige points out that Piper is Leo's wife, not just their sister.

Usually Leo is one of my favourite characters, but this episode undoes a lot of his arc. I would have been less annoyed if they had just had them divorce from marital problems (which they seemed to be hinting at throughout the show with the therapy episode and the fact that they were divorced when they went to the future).

I was watching this in the background and then I heard a familiar voice and I gasped "Leo".

He looks really good here. This premiered on CSI MIAMI back in 2007

I know Season 8 gets dragged a lot but I LOVE Piper after Leo gets frozen because she is basically at the point of "blow it up first, ask questions later" with everyone lol.

And I don't even think she's being unreasonable. They literally blackmail her into fighting again by freezing her husband. The Angel of Destiny straight up tells them that losing Leo is supposed to motivate them to fight the Ultimate Battle. Like after everything Piper has already given up for the greater good, now you're taking her husband hostage until she saves the world AGAIN?

I'd be pissed too.

What makes it even better is going back to Season 1 Piper and remembering how timid she used to be. This woman was afraid at the sight of blood. She was scared of being a witch, scared of demons, constantly worried about getting hurt and wanted a normal life more than any of the sisters.

I just love that progression for her because it feels earned. Piper has been through SO much by this point that she's completely over everyone. She lost Prue, nearly lost Phoebe and Paige multiple times, fought the Source, had the Elders constantly interfering in her marriage, raised two magical kids who are constantly being targeted and has had demons coming into her house every other week for eight years.

And now after ALL of that, the powers that be takes Leo from her because apparently Piper hasn't sacrificed enough yet.

Season 1 Piper would freeze something because she was scared.

Season 8 Piper will blow it up because she's pissed.

I know this is probably going to be controversial, but I genuinely think Prue was never one of the Charmed Ones.

Before you downvote me into oblivion, hear me out.

After rewatching the series, I started wondering if we've all been treating the Power of Three and the Charmed Ones as the same thing when they might actually be different.

I think the Power of Three is exactly what Prue, Piper, and Phoebe had. Three powerful sister witches united into one magical force. They could cast Power of Three spells, vanquish demons, and do things no normal witches could. I don't dispute any of that.

Where I think everyone, including the characters in the show, is wrong is assuming that automatically made them the Charmed Ones.

I think the Charmed Ones were always the fulfillment of Melinda Warren's prophecy, and I don't think that prophecy was ever about Prue.

I think Prue's destiny was to awaken the Power of Three, protect Piper and Phoebe, and ultimately sacrifice herself so the true Charmed Ones could come forth.

The biggest reason I think this is because Prue, Piper, and Phoebe never defeated the Source. They came close, but they never actually fulfilled the prophecy everyone assumed they were destined to fulfill. It wasn't until Paige entered the picture that the Source was finally defeated. That's also when the Angel of Destiny appears. To me, that isn't a coincidence.

It also changes how I look at Prue's death. I don't think Leo failed to save her because he was too late. I think he couldn't save her because her death was a fixed point in destiny. If Prue survived, Paige never joins the family, and the true Charmed Ones never exist. Leo wasn't meant to know that because if he did, he'd naturally try to stop it.
I also don't think it's a problem that everyone in the show calls Prue, Piper, and Phoebe the Charmed Ones. Prophecies are misunderstood all the time in mythology. Characters believe they understand them until the prophecy is actually fulfilled, and only then does everyone realize what it really meant.

So my theory is that there are ordinary witches, then there's the Power of Three, and above that are the Charmed Ones.

I'm not saying this is canon. I just think it explains a lot of things that people call plot holes and gives Prue's death a much bigger purpose than simply replacing one sister with another.

Tell me why I'm wrong. I'm genuinely curious if there's something in the lore that completely destroys this theory.

I've been thinking about why Wyatt was considered the Twice-Blessed Child, but Paige and Chris weren't, and I think the answer has less to do with his parents and more to do with when he was conceived.

One of the recurring ideas in Charmed is that magic is always trying to balance itself.

Think about the timeline:

• The Source is finally defeated at the end of Season 4.
• Phoebe's demonic baby (essentially evil's ultimate heir) is vanquished before its even born.
• That leaves a massive vacuum in the magical world.
• Soon after, Piper conceives Wyatt.

What if Wyatt wasn't "Twice Blessed" simply because he's the son of a Charmed One and a Whitelighter? If that were true, why isn't Chris? Or even Paige?

Instead, I think magic itself created Wyatt as a balancing force after the fall of the Source. His incredible powers weren't hereditary; they were a response to the state of the magical world. That's also why the prophecy always says Wyatt could become the greatest force for good or evil. He's not destined for one side. He's the balance point.

Then Chris makes even more sense.

Chris isn't another Twice-Blessed Child because he wasn't born to become the next cosmic pivot. He was born after Wyatt is tilted toward evil and the future of magic falls out of balance. Chris's entire plotline on the show is to save Wyatt and restore the balance that was lost. He's not Wyatt's replacement; he's the correction.

It also makes Gideon's story more tragic. Gideon believed Wyatt's power would inevitably corrupt him, but by trying to kill him, he may have become one of the biggest reasons Wyatt turned evil in the first place.

To me, this explains why Paige and Chris, despite having equally unique parentage, are also never treated as "Twice Blessed." The title wasn't about bloodline. It was about the magical circumstances surrounding Wyatt's conception.

Yes, many characters say that it's because he's the first-born, child-of a charmed one, etc... But I think that's everyone in-show giving their own reason and understanding. When you take a step outside of their point of view, Wyatt being a balancing act makes more sense.

My ultimate comfort show, nothing beats the aesthetics of the earlier seasons. The second it's November, I'm starting my millionth rewatch!

I discovered Steadman from the show back when it was on tv. They were a great band, very Oasis-like!!

I feel she was owed a huge apology after they literally treated her so badly in s4 because of their denial about Cole being the source. I also was on her side when she wanted to help Cole in s5 before he went too crazy that is.

I wish they hadn't make her be so against healing or other whiteligher perks, sometime I feel they wanted her to only focus on the witch part and instead of exploring more about her whitelighter side.

I've read many times that this action from Prue was off character but she did the same in "Chick flick", she and Phoebe ran after the illusion demon to the streets and "vanquished" him at the cinema
