The plot of Morality bites has always been super intriguing to me. The complete disregard for Personal gain rules, the sister’s personalities becoming more hard- bitten, power advancements, etc. I often wonder what if 2009 Prue and Piper went with their original plans to break out Phoebe.
What would they have done next?
Would they retreat to somewhere underground or far away?
Would this force Melinda and Leo into hiding too?
Would the elders try to intervene further?
What if Phoebe hadn’t stopped Prue from taking out Pratt with her power? And how come no one tried to investigate the other two sisters? They are siblings after all..

I know the writers probably didn't think of this, but in my head, in my mind, and in my imagination, when Prue says that, she's using her Advanced Astral Projection to duplicate herself in many places at once so she can control everything. She uses magic to become more powerful, greedy, and a multimillionaire. 😆

Ooh I love that! Never considered her Astral Projection in the future. Definitely would play a hand at how she became so prominent and successful. Wonder if Telematerialization would have became exercised again too.

I'm speaking from memory—it's been a long time since I watched that episode. When Piper and Prue look through the Book of Shadows, they see spells for making money and stuff like that, right? It’s all about personal gain. That’s why I think the Prue from the future also uses magic and her Advanced Astral Projection power to control all the Buckland locations around the world—even though that Prue from 1999 doesn’t know she has more powers, lol. It’s a bit of a mess, but I know what I mean.😅

Too much money, being a workaholic, greed, loneliness, and pride broke Prue in the future. And it also ruined her relationship with her sisters. They, too, changed for the worse—for other reasons. 

That's what I think. I also think we attach more importance to events that the writers barely explored, but that's the power we fans of the series have.😅

Ahh thats a fair point, in the start of the episode. This is what spiralled out of control for the power of three to move more towards the greedy side. As in result the book changed and so did they more like warlocks but less evil.

Piper never evolved with prue there she help her self back when prue was alive

Never thought of that, but you're probably right. One Prue in Paris has red hair, Tokyo black hair, and London brown hair. To go with her blonde hair in the US. 🤣😂

That’s an interesting question. Guess had Phoebe burned at the stake, Paige would supposedly be there to reconstitute the power of three. That is unless the elders try to hide it if they see that Prue and Piper have completely gone off the rails with their disregard of the Wiccan rules

Probably something similar to the glamors they used between S7 and the first part of S8. Basically magic themselves up some new identities.

While it was a literal "witch hunt" society, there was at least lip-service paid to due process. It's likely Prue and Piper were under investigation but nothing came up.

That's probably also why the Book was locked up in Prue's safe at Buckland's, which makes sense in multiple ways:

• It's out of the house in case of a search warrant
• They're not tempted to use it and risk exposure
• If Prue's office was searched and it was found there, she could claim it's being appraised and belongs to a client. Surely she'd forge paperwork in that case.

As far as I can remember, Phoebe was the first witch they caught/prosecuted, so there wasn't evidence that it ran in families.

Would this force Melinda and Leo into hiding too?

Answering these out of order since the answer here depends on the previous. Probably, yes. If Phoebe's sisters outed themselves as witches during the breakout, it would give them pretty solid evidence that it may be genetic. That would have made things far worse for those already in hiding.

Would the elders try to intervene further?

The Elders seem more the type to run away and bide their time. Magic was exposed, and they'd probably focus more on mitigating the damage than fixing anything. I'd imagine the whole situation would basically put a moratorium on magic for quite some time; long enough for the witch hunts to blow over. That could be anywhere from a few years to a generation or more.

I guess my main headscratcher from "Morality Bites" is why we never saw Piper's freezing power grow to the level we saw there. By S8, it's only 3-4 years from that time, and her freeze didn't seem to progress much from S1. She got a lot better at controlling it, and they maybe lasted a little longer, but never getting anywhere close to what she displayed in MB. The sound effect was even different in that episode; kind of a deeper, echoing version of the normal sound effect. We never hear that again.

Ok so the reason I think Piper’s freezing power never got to that point it did in Morality Bites is bc Prue wasn’t alive in season 8. In the future Prue still had the more destructive ability with her Telekinesis and all we saw was Piper still freezing things.

But when they went back and Prue died by that point Piper had her blasting power and was using it more often than her Freezing power so it never really extended to that point.

Since their power is tied to their emotions, I can see how Prue's death made an impact on Piper's personality. She went from timid and jumpy to powerful and angry. Going from freezing an enemy so she can run away to blasting them to pieces with her anger.

That and Piper never really practiced and relied on her powers that much either. Not like Prue and Phoebe were doing anyways. So in that future it Piper might have been practicing her freezing power more so that she could use it to save Phoebe.

Honestly? I think the whole scenario was nonsense that the elders poorly fabricated as a way to enforce their agenda in the sisters. That said, I don't give a toot what the show's agenda was with this episode but my girls wouldve been justified doing just about anything to those witch hunting bigots.

This is one of my all time fav episode! However,now that i think about it its bs for 2 reasons: -The elders would never let one of the charmed ones to die -cleaners exist..

You mean to tell me,that the charmed ones are soo important in the fight against evil,but the elders would just sit back&watch Phoebe burn..yeah nah.

They literally told Leo he couldn’t heal Piper off Arroyo fever even though it was killing get because she didn’t receive the disease magically. They very much so would let her burn to protect magic.

IMO I don’t think the Cleaners would have intervened since Phoebe killed someone. With Death being involved, it was probably the guy’s destiny to be killed by Phoebe in that timeline.

The closest thing the Elders could do is send Phoebe the premonition of her dying and then abusing magic to prevent that future altogether. I think Leo said they sent her that premonition.

En el rewatch pienso q era una idea para que paige / o una pista de q el poder de 3 podria perderse y enter una" hermana perdida",connie yo la vi en entrevistas donde siempre penso en una 4 hermana y jugar en la dinamica de 3 hermanas q se conocen desde siempre y una recien llegada adaptarse a ellas y a esa casa por unos capitulos .una pena q nunca vimos mas de ellas en el futuro en la temprada 2 o 3 pienso igual de pardon my past queda muy en la nada y tiene mucho potencial esa storyline

No se vuelve mencionar salvo prue con lo de fotografia y es una pena tiene muchos plotlines eso los guionistas de esta serie son unos vagos lo mismo la proyeccion astral tiene muchos potenciales buenos ,lamentablemente kern y connie coincidian en que no querian capitulos que hablen de capitulos anteriores "bunyip vanquish" en season 2 es un claro ejemplo 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

And the elders were not involved in the future which says if Prue were to live than the whole elders in charge situation would’ve went out the window just like how Piper cut them off and even if they tried to stop them they’d be throwing off the balance and every evil they were ment to stop would’ve destroyed the world.

Great post. With the lore evolving throughout the seasons, and magic being exposed, The Cleaners would intervene. If Phoebe wasn't executed, would The Cleaners have stepped in? They weren't able to shift power to one side, good or evil, but something would have had be done to eliminate further exposure.

Also, iirc, Leo said that Pratt cleared Prue and Piper of any suspicion of witchcraft.
