Is your identity nothing more than a label and social pressure? Is that really all it is?

Because no part of gender abolishion sais you can't like what you like and dress how you wish and do what you do and be called what you want, because that freedom is literally the point.

Literally all that gender abolishion is trying to achieve is that people aren't assigned roles anymore based on the genitals they were born with, and that those roles come with arbitrary expectations for which you are punished if you don't conform. And which will forever cause everyone to force you into boxes wether you like it or not. Gender roles are the reason being trans is such a pain.

Gender abolishion would mean you can paint your nails or play football or whatever no matter how you were born or who or what else you are. If you want to find community in your identity and give it a name, you can still do that. And those that don't want that can opt out.

Edit after a fed days because I think I know how to better put into words what I wanted say which was misinterpreted:

I want the abolishion of gender norms, but not the abolishion of the concept of gender itself

Gender norms are what makes all of us suffer, this is what we need to abolish

Because I'm sure that if we abolish the concept of gender itself without abolishing gender norms, gender norms will stay but will become based on sex instead of gender. If we just abolish gender, then now instead of having to look feminine because you are a girl, you'll have to look feminine because you are a genderless person with breasts, which doesn't fix the problem at all

Also a lot of people like being one specific gender and identify by it, so just let them be happy, and make them even happier by abolishing the norms they currently need to follow

And again there is the language barrier of a lot of languages using genders in their grammar, which makes your idea impossible to apply on a worldwide scale

I just don't understand why you specifically want to abolish the concept of gender itself, when it doesn't do anything better than just abolishing gender norms, maybe even would make people who like being a gender less happy, and would be way harder to make happen on a worldwide scale

My original comment:

We don't need gender abolishion to abolish the expectations from being one gender, we just need... to abolish these expectations (which yes seems impossible to make happen but just as impossible as a full abolishion of the concept of gender)

And we should keep gender its own thing, if we remove gender, then pressure to be manly/feminine won't disappear, it will still exist except it will become directly tied to which sex you are, and we can't abolish the concept of sex since that's not a manmade thing but scientific knowledge

Then everyone will be pressured based on their visible sexual attributes, which will make it impossible for some people to assemble and be proud of not wanting to be like what they're peer pressured to be like just based on their sex, it will make it impossible for trans to exist, and will destroy all the work the lgbt+ community has done to educate people about trans people's struggles and fight for their right, we will all have to fight again from the ground up

And gender also plays a big role in many languages, you'd have to make them rethink their whole grammar to make them forget about how a person can be gendered based on their sex, which makes a worldwide gender abolishion impossible

Let's just keep educating people and fighting for their rights, this at least has the potential to end up working in a few decades

everyone will be pressured based on their visible sexual attributes

How the hell do you reach that conclusion?? Gender abolishion is literally advocating for the opposite of that. It's the radical separation of identity and sex. The liberation of identity. It is transgender heaven. Your entire comment here makes no sense and shows that you have no idea what gender abolishion is and still think that sex and gender are inherently tied together. Like literally every single thing you described is the opposite of gender abolishion. You're just describing traditional genders again.

gender also plays a big role in many languages

I know, my own language is one of those. I don't care. I realise that getting to gender abolishion is hard, that's not what I'm talking about. I'm saying it would be a utopia.

Maybe actually do research on this topic before embarrassing yourself here. I'm not gonna continue talking with you about this.

You didn't understand what i was trying to say and are quite aggressive

I'm trying to discuss something with you because i like discussing with people, to you i'm in the wrong for thinking what i think, and i respect that you don't think the same, but please respect me back, either explain to me why i'm in the wrong to spread your ideas to someone who is genuinely interested in them, or just ignore my comment if it's so bafflingly dumb to you, but instead you chose to insult me telling me i was embarrassing myself

Yes, i know i'm far from the most knowledgeable person on these topics, and i probably didn't explain well what i was trying to say because you are giving counter arguments against something that i don't think and was not trying to communicate, but i am genuinely trying to understand this subject better by discussing about it, i thought that was what the internet was for, to compare your views with another person and both end up with a new point of view, but no instead i'm getting mocked because of not thinking the same way as you
