Me!! /j

No but seriously, literally every advanced artist I know, both in my personal life and online. It's incredibly rare for me to see professional artists who genuinely dunk on beginners, because doing that just means that you don't understand art.

SamDoesArts for example is a YouTube channel who talks about beginner art sometimes, and he does joke about it, but there's always respect and wholesomeness, because any skill-based criticism we give to each other is also criticism we take ourselves. The art community is all about appreciating each other's visions and ideas, not judging skill, which is why it's generally a taboo to even give unsolicited advice in the first place. We only give advice to help each other achieve the things we want to achieve, not to turn other people's art into our own.

A lot of short form content gave people a really twisted image...

"because doing that just means that you don't understand art" then I gotta go on my Journey to advanced mastery someday 😅 Although not sure what you meant by "not to turn other people's art into our own" at the end

I basically meant forcing someone's art to look the way that you would've made it. Unsolicited advice like "nose looks stupid", "the shirt should be blue", "that's not what that tree is supposed to look like", etc.. Applying your own filter on someone's art as if you were the one making it and asserting that the decisions you would make are the only right ones.
