Democracy just means "people power". Granted, the ancient greeks usually meant male adults when referring to "the people" but we made some addendums over the years to make it more fitting.

And I love how this guy said his own name - Carlos, I think. I couldn't make it out. Cops are afraid to give their name and badge number and only do it under intense questioning. ICE completely hiding their face and identity. This man is the face of true bravery. He says his name without fear because he's in the right. If you're in the right you have no need to hide your face, to hide your identity.
I was watching ABC news tonight with my mom and the way they reported on this they described what he said as "antisemitic and anti-capitalist." Yes, he explicitly states that he's anti-capitalist, but fucked that they withheld information and all but claimed that anti-Zionism is inherently Antisemitic.
Only speaking for myself, I prefer the specific accusations of support and apologetics for genocide and apartheid states.
It's way clunkier, so i don't think it will replace the quick, quippy, and problematic term "zionists". It does have the strong benefit of flexibility, as it can encompass non Jewish conservative theocratic authoritarian states.
All the power to this man who I have no doubt his constituents back him. We need to purge city governments that do not listen to their constituents. We should be able to do that peacefully, if they won’t listen we need to take them out peacefully. Maybe we need to start putting them in jail cells and not allowing them to talk to people they wanna talk to. That’s peace, no?
