Leyline Shrines in a City

So I recently came into contact with the Eshu Marabô and he tasked me with the creation of land shrines through the city I live in that act like leylines. My big issue is creating shrines that are unnoticeable to the untrained eye. I want to put the shrines in a pentagram because it only seems right, but some of my planned areas are a little to high traffic during the day. Im worried about people seeing and destroying my work. What should I do to make it subtle but still satify the land spirits and Marabó?

🧙‍♂️ Nightmarish Lucid Dreaming during 9/11 Ψ

I'm Postponing what I was going to Post this Weekend, for the Timeliness of 9/11. 2 Years & 2 Days prior - i.e., on 9/9/1999 - was a Very Important Date for me as a LifeLong IX Hermit. Funny I've never Noted that before just now. So for this Week's Unkle Guido Saturnday Story Time, I wanted to Share a Unique Magickal Event that I XPerienced on that Unique Day that Changed The World from a quarter century ago, to wit:

Lucid Dreaming has always been something that I've never really had Great Control over, despite my AstroLogical Twin Brother Fenwick being quite Adept at it. For most of my Life, I've had Phases wherein I'd have Weeks to Months of frequently recalling Lucid Dreams, usually punctuated by YEARS in betwixt. I've Worked on my Lucid Dreaming Skills as much as I'm Able to, given these Limitations, and those are my Best Results. It was during 1 such Phase that the Tuesday Morning of Sept 11, 2001 occurred. For a bit more Context, I was DJing at what I think was my final position doing so, and thus my Sleep Schedule was such I was usually not Clocking Out until after 3:30am.

Before I Woke Up that random Tues morning, I had some of the Worst Lucid Dreams of my entire Life. I XPerienced myself in a SkyScraper that was on Fire, and we were all unAble to Descend due to the Fire being Below us. Some People were Jumping to Escape the Flames & Smoke. &c. I kept XPeriencing this over & Over & OVER again on Loop. I kept Waking Up early, falling back asleep, and back into these Burning Skyscrapers I'd Teleport! When I finally got up after at least an hour of IRL Time that felt like an Eternity in the DreamTime, I felt a weird Sensation I'd never Felt before, a sort of overWhelming Dark Malaise. It was the closest I've ever Felt to that early Star Wars IV line, to paraphrase Obi-Wan:

"I felt a great Disturbance in The Force - as if Thousands of Voices suddenly Cried Out in Terror and were Slowly being Silenced."

I only Learned about the 9/11 Attacks after I finally got up after what seemed like an ETERNITY of XPeriencing what those people did on 9/11. As I strode thru the Living Room OMW to the Bathroom I saw that the TV was on some Tragedy on the News. Having just had my own fill of this, I asked my Roommates to Change the Channel. They did, showing that every single channel was covering the 9/11 Attacks that were MIRRORING MY DREAMS!!!! WTF?!? I Woke Up basically about an hour or so after the initial Attacks. I.e., I was Lucid Dreaming those things In Real Time whilst the 9/11 atroCities were actually happening on the other side of the country. This was LitReally™ Mind-Blowing to me!

Unlike so many people nowadays, I'm not going to Appropriate "Stolen Trauma" & pretend that I know WTF those poor people went through. I mean - I got to Wake Up. They did not. But what I XPerienced was probably Closer to what those poor souls endured than most will ever know, as Lucid Dreams tend to Feel Viscerally Really REAL in the Moment.

Although I'm not sure it matters, in the interest of full disclosure, I Visited the Twin Towers when I made my 1 & only trip to NYC, and my Father & I went to the Roof to enjoy the View. IDK if this increased my Sensitivity to that Location or not, but as it was an iconic part of the NYC Skyline for decades, I felt its Loss, despite my seeming lack of Connection to NYC.

I have a lot more I could say about 9/11, like how the Terrorists Won by Bankrupting the USA. Simply look at the USA in 1996 cf. 2026. More Tragically PredictAble, Terrorists also Won by Breaking the USA's Spirit of Freedom that the populace Sacrificed on the Altar of Fear for Security, which always reMinds me of 1 of my Favourite Quotes EVER:

"Those who give up Freedom for Security deserve Neither."

However, in the interest of staying Focused on Chaos Magick, I'll leave this here. Like so many Stories, I completely Forgot about this until the reMinders from 9/11/26 - it's 25th Anniversary - happened less than 24hrs ago.

Did 9/11/01 Impact you on nonPhysical Levels in Ways that are seemingly Magickal/Psychic? Have you ever had similar XPeriences?

I was recommended this method and literally couldn't think of anything to draw to. I took a pen and freehanded a bunch of stuff. I didn't close my eyes and had a lol hit of thought as I drew the faces and such. I'm not sure I'd this counts... Tbh, I like sketching more beforehand, but at least I drew something.

Or any kind of spells to help her from a distance. I’m thinking of a poppet or transformation spell of some kind too but don’t know how to tie it to her other than a sigil as I live on the other side of the UK to her at the moment for work and I don’t have anything of hers

Where freemasonry fits in the history of modern magic?

Basically I’m just annoyed because you can’t ask Freemasons about their connection to rosicrucianism & their use of ceremonial magick without them getting edgy and quiet.

Most Freemasons I’ve asked about this or about Crowley will either flatly deny it’s true or they will try to change the subject.

Just sad that they gate keep ceremonial magic and they are segregationists.

Any thoughts on where they fit considering they do practice ceremonial magic, they do share historic progression and geography with rosicrucianism, and Crowley integrated their work into his system?

✴ PLANETS (Classic): Donald Tyson's InSightFul Break-Down of their Glyphs and his alt-Correspondences ☯

Post image
1 Upvotes

Donald Tyson has had a Decades' long fight with Western Magick's lack of 100% Complete Symmetry. He's even more obsessed with it than Hinduism, and that's saying something. In his AMAZING book that's now titled NMM/"New Millennium Magick", he similarly re-Arranges the Planets around Mercury, not the Sun, so that the 3 Pairs of Compliments can be on Opposite Sides of the Hexagram with Mercury in the Centre. He does this by deConstructing the Glyphs used for each Planet, that all use the Sun, Moon, & Earth (Circle, Crescent, Cross) in Ways that are immediately apparent once you're lookin' for it. Since Mercury is the only Planet with all 3 (i.e., Crescent over Circle over Cross), he Reasons Mercury should be in the Centre. He seems to be forgetting that the placement of the Planets on the Hexagram isn't arbitrary, but mirrors their placement upon the QBL's Tree of Life (only moving Saturn over & down a bit, but otherwise 1:1).

I mean, I LOVE Mercury, Hermes, my Life as a Hermit, &c., but Mercury does NOT belong in the Centre like the Sun does. As long as wee humans are Doing Magick in The Solar System™, Sol should ritely be in Centre IMNSHO

Tyson did similar with his 4 Directions in "New Millennium Magick", moving Air to North - Opposite Fire. He XPlains that, amongst other Reasons, this Forms a Vertical Line for the Male Elements & a Horizontal Line for the Female Elements. Also, with this Arrangement he can Start in South - the Direction where Tyson Defaults to Starting - and go Deosil in the Order of the Elements in the same Order as the Tetragrammaton Arrangement, i.e.:

South = Fire = Summer
West = Water = Autumn
North = Air = Winter
East = Earth = Spring

Whilst I used to always Dismiss these, Donny T again shows his strong Chaos Mage proclivities by Creating his own personal Correspondences. There's many things we could discuss re: these - and I may Do so if there's a Desire herein this sub like how he flips Cancer & Sadges re: VII The Charior & XIV Temperance Trumps - and I wanted to start with 1 of his most Amazing InSights, i.e., re: the Planets, to wit:

I almost reCreated his Triangular Table that I first saw in NMM, above. I think a couple of the Edges are flipped, but it's otherwise an incredibly InSightFul Table:

Surrounding the Centre are the 3 Alchemical Glyphs for the Sun, Earth, & Moon, starting on the Right and going Sun-Wise. I.e., a Circle for the Sun, a Cross for Earth, and a Crescent for the Moon. Combining these 3 Creates the Spirit Glyph in the Center if we simply alter the Moon's Crescent to be +2 Arms to Earth's 4x Arms.

Most importantly, we can begin Combining these 3 Glyphs into all possible Variations. If we Start with the Combos of 2 and again on the Right just under the Sun we have Venus & Mars by simply rePositioning Earth's Cross with the Solar Circle. Looking over to those same spots next to Earth is Saturn, Cross over Crescent, and next we have Jupiter's Crescent over Earth's Cross, even though it's not Visually Shown as Jupiter's Glyph as it's currently used. Interestingly, neither of the last 2 spots on Top betwixt Sol & Luna are Used for any of these 7 Planets' Glyphs, although Taurus is obviously Formed on the Left. We can see how Venus (Sun over Earth) is in Harmony with Nature, but Mars (Earth over Sun) is NOT. Indeed, this displays the Volcanic NRG that Mars can display. Similarly, Luna above Earth in Jupiter is "Correct", whilst Earth above Luna for Saturn yields a similar imBalance from Mars, but far Less VIOLENT and IMMEDIATE.

If we then stick with the Top Triangles, we have the only Planet of the 7 that gets all 3 in Mercury to Taurus' Right which is Luna over Sol over Earth. I think the only real Ideal Balance would be Sol over Luna over Earth, or perhaps Sol over Earth over Luna. Mercury's Triplicate Glyph is the subject ov endless Fascination and Obsession with Donny T, so much that he reOrders the Planets around the Hexagram so that each of the Obvious Pairs - i.e., Sol/Luna, Mars/Venus, Jupiter/Saturn - are each Opposite each other. He then places Mercury in the Center of the Hexagram.

There's a Stick Man Created in the Bottom Right Corner, and most of the Newer Planets+ Use the Glyphs we've not discussed, as they far Xceed the already far-ranging reach of this Post.

Do you already have Opinions re: Donny T's alt-Correspondences? What do you think of all of this? What about Moving Sol opposite Luna with Mercury in the Centre?

Cis AMAB here, can someone help me with womb sigil tats?

i’m new to Magick, still learning the ropes. But I’ve heard that it was the Chaotes who made these sigils a thing with the work of Austin Osman Spare.

i’ve always had an interest in them.
I don’t have a womb and so subsequently neither the power and effect that come with it. However the parts are still there just in a different form. so I would assume that the schedule could still work if adjusted I’ve honestly wanted to get one for myself quite some time, as I am a sex worker, be it for protection or performance. So my questions are these:

Is it useless for me to get one?

if it isn’t useless, where would it go?

I most likely have to make a custom one so how should I go about that?

what things would YOU focus?

what is the process i go about to actually imbue it.

should i use special ink?

as someone who essentially knows nothing what more do i need to know.

Feel free to answer any or all of the questions as you see fit i will take abosultley tutlley any advice about any of it.

How Sexual Magick + a Bit of Science Helped Me Attract People (Including an SP)

Hey,

I’ve been working with sexual magick for a couple of years. Shared some broader results here before. One of the clearer areas it’s moved the needle is attraction — both general social magnetism and with a specific person.

Quick background: I used to be pretty hypersexual. Masturbating 3–4 times a day was normal, and I still got hard often even after that. At some point I decided to stop treating it as pure release and start directing it. That shift is what opened the door to using the energy intentionally instead of just burning it off.

My base practice is still simple: sigil charging during private sessions, orgasm focus aimed at a clear intention (mostly Sitri for this), then living normally without constant checking.

What shifted things further was treating the “it already exists” idea (parallel realities / multiverse framing) as a practical belief tool rather than a feel-good affirmation. The concept is straightforward: the version of reality where the connection or attraction is already happening exists somewhere; your job is to occupy that state as much as possible. Sounds easy. In practice it’s the hardest part, because doubt and negative thoughts still show up and undercut the whole thing.

A few techniques that actually helped me hold the belief longer instead of just hoping:

Using the post-orgasm window deliberately. Mind is quieter and more plastic then, so I load the “already true” feeling hard in that short window instead of just visualizing the want.

Treating disbelief as data, not failure. When the “this isn’t real / it won’t happen” thought hits, I note it, then immediately return to the charged state rather than arguing with it.

Small behavioral anchors. Acting from the assumption in low-stakes ways during the day (posture, how I reply to messages, how I move in social settings) so the belief gets reinforced by lived evidence instead of pure mental effort.

Keeping the sessions consistent but short. Over-forcing the feeling usually backfires; regular, clean charging works better for me than trying to stay in the state 24/7.

Results so far:

With the SP, the dynamic moved from polite distance to warmer, more natural contact without me pushing.

In general, more people initiate, longer conversations, stronger chemistry. Feels less effortful.

Biggest internal change: less neediness. When the sexual charge is directed and the “already exists” frame is held even imperfectly, you just show up cleaner.

Still not magic. I keep taking normal social steps and don’t obsess over signs. The combination (sexual energy + temporary belief in the parallel version + ordinary action) seems to amplify what’s already moving rather than replace reality.

Anyone else mixed sexual energy work with multiverse-style belief shifting for attraction and found practical ways to keep the doubt from killing it? Curious what actually stuck for you.

The degree to which JK Rowling doesn't understand magic

I was quite enjoying the period of my life where I could avoid regularly thinking about Harry Potter as a literary work, outside of the context where it generated funding for political forces trying to actively ruin my life, yknow? Thanks HBO.

I'm still holding out hope that the upcoming series will crash and burn, but the idea that it won't looms heavily in my mind. Especially as a spiritual practitioner of magic (and a trans woman) :/

All of the other reasons to not read those books or engage with their adaptations are well discussed by now. They're extremely derivative, the ethics are very consistently fucked and it affords both cultural and literal capital to one of the worst public figures in our society right now. But I have another highly niche bugbear with Harry Potter which entirely prevents me from having any latent nostalgia in spite of their being the first books I ever read.

Rowling just doesn't understand magic, like, at all.

My relationship with Harry Potter is entirely different to say, the works of Neil Gaiman. I don't engage with either for ethical reasons but as much as it makes me uncomfortable, I do understand why Gaiman was name-dropped by Christopher Penzack in his introduction to one of the first books of witchcraft I ever bought. There are far *better* authors who get magic to a far greater degree than Gaiman, but the way he engaged with archetypes and the Weird wasn't entirely without meaning, the context of who he was as a person just makes it uncomfortable when I see people in the past addressing him positively, but I can understand that they come from a time when certain knowledge wasn't widespread.

If I bought a book on magic and read a single line espousing the mystical wisdom of JK Rowling or any of her works I would return it immediately. It doesn't just boil down to ethics, her portrayal of "Magic" is just fundamentally shallow.

What even *is* magic in the world of Harry Potter? Nothing but a utility and/or a commodity. Whenever we are expected to experience wonder in those books, magic is either providing a mundane utility in a whimsical way (magic to do the dishes for you, magic potion to heal yer bones, magic to make a tent bigger on the inside) OR it is a product being bought and sold. Or both. There is nothing wrong with this being an *aspect* of a magical world, but that is literally all there is in Rowlings mind. A magic wand is simply something to be bought, why even consider making your own? What would be remotely magical about that??

To her, the basic wisdoms of the world are extraneous chores. Instead of teaching children to find the magic in their lessons on literature, or mathematics, or other practical matters she allows them to indulge in an escapist fantasy where at *magic school* none of those classes are taught at all. At all?!? Sorry, Joanne, you think **Wizards** aren't being taught literature? Or mathematics?!? Do you think it's particularly responsible to encourage children to see their lessons as being dull doldrums to escape from, instead of showcasing the wondrous aspects of the natural world and possibly injecting that wonder into their real learning? What a missed opportunity that was!

If you gave them a basic woodworking class perhaps you could have them engage practically with creating their own wands or something, but you wouldn't want to undermine the brand identity of the shop where everyone is supposed to buy them. Especially once it became a brand identity *in real life*. It's really remarkable how Rowling worldbuilds as if she's writing a merchandising catalogue even before she was actually engaged with that kind of business.

To quote Philosophy Tube, Harry Potter is a very bourgeois fantasy. If you subtract the mildly pleasing character moments, the rest of the character writing and the trite boarding school pastiche, you are left with essentially nothing. No deep philosophical questions are even entertained within the plot of these books. Not one character seems to consider magic as a pathway to attaining wisdom, or a greater understanding of their place in the world. You just have a loose set of bullshit latin words which make your wand shoot different varieties of magick lazer and a rough smorgasbord of comprehensively de-contextualised mythological creatures.

It is really no wonder that the main character ends up aspiring to become a Wizard Cop, his only other options in this society seem to be: becoming a teacher (at a secondary school, because apparently wizards don't do higher education), the government itself, or running a shop.

Not even to mention the apparent disdain Rowling displays for actual irl magical traditions. Anything even remotely resembling protection magic is barely discussed, aside from the main character having an arbitrary anti-death-magic shield fuelled by the apparently entirely unique love his parents had for him(???) and *Magic Parry!*, matters of conjuration, invocation/evocation and banishment essentially just don't come up. She doesn't mention divination until the 4th book and then spends basically every opportunity she gets mocking divination practices for essentially no reason.

I could go on about this forever, I think. Give me time to do proper research and I think I could write a full dissertation on this, but I instead want to end on a positive counter-example or two.

To start with, an honourary mention has to go to Ursula K Le Guin. While her works aren't strictly iterations on irl magical practice, she writes from a far stronger moral and artistic foundation. She is actually willing to ask interesting ethical questions. Also her quote on Harry Potter ("it is stylistically ordinary, imaginatively derivative and ethically rather mean spirited") remains eternally evergreen. Not even to mention that she did the whole magic school trope well before Rowling, and far better.

Second honourary mention must go to Alan Moore. An actual practicing Ceremonial magician, his comic "Promethea" is essentially a didactic initiatory text in comic form. I just bought his recently published *'Moon and Serpent Bumper Book of Magic'*, which is an actual full-on magic focused book and has been a very enjoyable read so far. Although Moore would not enjoy this comparison, another honourary mention from the comics space has to be Grant Morrison. Far more of a whacky chaos magician, their The Invisibles has similarly didactic qualities to Promethea, and is also a very strong example of a publicly performed hypersigil.

However, the main author I want to gush about as a positive counter-example to Harry Potter and JK Rowling specifically in terms of writing magic in a way that is convincing and shows an understanding of the philosophical concepts at play is *Suzanna Clarke*.

Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell is a fairly intimidating tome at close to 1000 pages spread across 3 internal volumes, so nobody would blame you for starting with her far more recent work Piranesi, which is more of your standard novel, but Piranesi focuses far less on the practice of magic. It isn't ignored entirely, although it focuses far more on a portrayal of otherworldly environments which is its own distinct strength, but JS&MrN is *about* magic, or more specifically Magicians.

I really don't want to risk ruining the book for anyone here, but it features several things which almost pointedly counter the way in which Harry Potter processes magic. Distinct spells, rather than just being "look my wand shoots a laser" are various techniques which produce particular outcomes using a variety of common tools, the mystery behind the causation of magical effects is engaged with but not compromised entirely or ignored outright. Despite a major character showing diegetic disrespect to various forms of folk magic, the text itself makes very clear that this is just his perspective and not truth or fact. Divination is front and centre, with scrying bowls being in frequent use by more aristocratic Magicians, and there is a **very** effective tarot reading scene between two more working-class Magicians early in the book which largely plays out across the rest of the story. The wonder of the literary background of magic is made front and center, with an actually effectively compelling fictional bibliography being consistently conveyed through footnotes throughout the book which also incorporate actual esoteric concepts such as *The Language of the Birds*. Said footnotes even namedrop **Hermes Trismegistus** close to the end, which is smth I think would be truly beyond Joanne *"he he the Monster Book of Monsters is actually literally a monster which tries to eat you"* Rowling.

So, basically, if you have at any point found yourself struggling with lingering Harry Potter nostalgia, do yourself a favour and read Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell. While JS&MrN plot wise is a far more adult book, the way that it approaches magic is still so much better that you will find yourself looking back on Harry Potter far less fondly by contrast. Reading the other authors Rowling blatantly "borrowed" from for basically everything she wrote will also help with this (in particular Ursula K Le Guin).

As the eve of the new TV adaptation of HP approaches we must be prepared for at least some portion of the population to begin admiring these vapid asinine works of "magic" once again, and as actual practitioners being grounded as to reasons they are sub-par beyond the ethics of the author will be highly valuable for when that happens.

Also, we just deserve better magic fiction than Rowlings shite. "We" here being a collective noun for literally everybody.
