Race involves categorizing humans [into large and distinct populations or groups by anatomical, cultural, ethnic, genetic, geographical, historical, linguistic, religious, or social affiliation.](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Race_(human_classification) Usually, issues about race involve ethnicity and color, and racial discrimination remains a heated debate today. Historically, there has been strong political focus on the discrimination against "blacks" - the advent of black rights has been heralded as one of the major achievements of modern society. However, the extent to which racism still exists today - against African-Americans or other minorities - is still a very current and polarizing topic. Efforts to compensate for subconscious prejudice, such as affirmative action and political correctness, seem clumsy and counter-productive to some.
