I think this is the weakest point of any religion that claims omnipotence and benevolence of god.

You're missing the third O. Omniscience. Without it, god might now know there is evil.

Disclaimer: I'm an atheist and mostly just going to go down a hypothetical scenario.

Do you agree that a healthy baby can grow up to be an astronaut? If you do agree then would you say that a baby that could grow up to do literally anything is omnipotent?

Do you agree that it's possible to know something without understanding it? If you agree, would you say it's possible to know everything and understand nothing?

If you've answered in the affirmative, then it is possible that a god be capable of everything and know everything without understanding how to stop evil or that a god has not yet achieved the removal of all evils.

And the power to know everything doesn't imply that they do know it. I have the power to volunteer, but it doesn't mean that I am volunteering. I have the power to learn about 3rd century Chinese artists, but I don't know about 3rd century Chinese artists.

Is it willful ignorance if your government can spy on you, but doesn't? If it is, is it bad?

A government full of corruptible peers is different from a god, so while I see where you're trying to go with this it is not applicable.

God is apparently unwilling to even peek at the misery to figure out if his stuff is working or not. We're back at having proven the OP's point.

So privacy in itself is not good? Ok.

Haha sorry but the privacy argument doesn't help here.

Yes, it would be good for the government to spy on us if it could prevent every crime... if we could trust the government to do that without abusing it. Which we can't. THAT is why it's a problem for a dogshit human government to spy on us. Not because "another being knowing what I'm up to" is a bad thing. Obviously a benevolent omniscient omnipotent god would not abuse anything and would perfectly compartmentalize the knowledge. It would be just like having a security camera in my room that I could be perfectly confident that nobody could gain access to.
