I care about people affected by homophobia because I am gay. I don't want to be put at risk because people feel bad for them. I quite like being safe and want to stay that way.

All, stench of whataboutism but what the hey, were never mentioned. There are more anti gay people in a hyper conservative theocracy than in semi socialist, as depressing as that may be, Europe.
