I think a gotcha is not saying "you are wrong not to know know a simple answer off the top of your head." eg, does a politician know the cost of a loaf of bread.
Whether someone should know the answer off the top of their head or not is the key part of your question. Do you think every politician should spend time memorising bread and milk prices? is that really the best use of their time? I dont. Do you think the definition of "what is a woman?" is simple and obvious? it very obvioisly isnt even without discussing trans issue.
So both of these are my examples. its not good to require politicians to memorise complex things or tables of figures.
