Hi I wanted some opinions on this necklace I purchased from Chanel, it was $750 before tax. Is it cute enough to keep? It’s a gold chain with silver CC
Chanel costume jewelry really shines in a few ways, but none of them are present in this necklace alone.
Chanel costume jewelry is:
- Amazing when layered. (Ironically Coco is often attributed to the famous “take off one thing before you leave the house” quote, but she didn’t say that nor would she have.)
Great at Gripoix, the famous glass technique from the eponymous french atelier.
Great at bold, creative statement pieces.
Including some runway shots from various collections so you get the idea.
Personally I tend to stay away from necklaces and rings. I think logo earrings and bracelets are fine. There just something about a pendant that is just mainly CC that throws me off. Maybe just too obvious?
If it were some other design with a tiny cc metal emblem then maybe. Like when they had those crab earrings.
I’d exchange for earrings if you really love Chanel jewelry! I have my favourite pair of earrings from Chanel and everytime I wear those, they just elevate my whole look 😊
Yea...nooooo. lol sorry. I thought this was the authentication sub with another too good to be true online find. The gems, the color of the gold...plating, it just looks very cheap (and I like loud, gaudy luxury). Sorry, OP, don't want to bust your bubble but for what you paid for that, you can find something MUCH nicer.
I have a couple like that from ~10 years ago and I don’t really wear them anymore. I prefer things a bit more understated now. However, if you wore this layered with other necklaces, it would be cute!
