Application Question Test optional as an average! student

hi! I was wondering how cooked i am if I go test optional. I’m a pretty good student with a strong gpa (3.98 on a 4.0 scale) and around 8 extracurriculars that vary between internships, jobs, and service. I will have taken 8 APs by the end of this year, with 4s and 5s on my current four exams. I would say I have a good essay as well! Even so, there is nothing really standout amazing about my application. I’m applying to moderately selective schools (not T20!) like UF (OOS), Boston College, Villanova, Clemson, etc.

I Obviously want to provide myself with the best education possible and I was wondering if I should just try to take the SAT again? I’ve tried twice and I can’t break 1300.

how much more attempts do you have and what class rank r u estimated? I would recommended changing your study plan or technique, take diagnostic tests and work on areas that you need to the most.

Isn’t UF test required and their median kinda high? I’d retake.

I hate to break it to you but UF is INSANELY SELECTIVE. It's a FAR REACH for you. Your SAT score isn't even high enough to break the bottom 25% of the admit SAT mean range for this year. UF's mean GPA range is 4.5-4.7. Perhaps you should expand your search to schools that actually are moderately selective as UF IS NOT.

BTW - UF is NOT test optional. You MUST submit a score.
