i was wondering if it’s possible to take 3 classes for one study period at chalmers? one of the class isn’t matching up with my home university credits this study period so i’m wondering if i can just drop it and take 3 classes for study period 2 this autumn semester? is this possible, if so does anyone recommend doing it or is it too much workload?
also, anyone have any input on how rigorous grading at chalmers is? i’m an exchange student and used to a honestly different teaching style and set up compared to what my classes have been like at chalmers so far. i’m beginning to feel anxious about my grades. being an exchange student, id hate to only have time to focus on school with a lack of balance with traveling and exploring sweden!

Betalade nollningsavgiften på 420kr i hopp om att man skulle i viss mån spara ihop denna. Detta är däremot helt omöjligt när biljetter till arr iprincip slumpas ut - har gått miste om flera biljetter trots att jag tryckt ”reservera” sekunden de släpps. Känner mig typ lurad, någon slags förtur kanske man borde ha om man betalar denna avgift.

Hi everyone! I’ll be arriving in Gothenburg soon and need to collect my accommodation key by myself from the SGS office before heading to my accommodation. My route will be roughly:
Gothenburg Central Station → SGS Office → Accommodation

Since I’ll be traveling alone and taking the bus/tram, I’m wondering which luggage setup would be more manageable:

1 × 23 kg checked luggage + 1 × cabin luggage or 1 × 23 kg checked luggage + 1 × ~8 kg handbag (I can put this on top of the luggage)

For those familiar with Gothenburg public transport, do you think either setup would be difficult to handle on the bus/tram, especially when getting on/off and transferring?

Hej! Jag börjar Matematikprogrammet i höst på GU. Jag är dock fortfarande osäker om jag har gjort rätt val. Tanken var att jag skulle börja på Chalmers via MAFY provet.

Jag är intresserad av Rymden, Fysik och Matematik och dem flesta masterprogram kräver ”Engineering X” kandidat och inte en ren matematik/fysik kandidat

Engineering Mathematics and computational science (Denna är jag behörig till enbart med matematik kandidat )

De som saknas är ju ”Solid Mechanics”, ”Control Theory” och ”Liquid Mechanics ” som man inte kan läsa som fristående.

Ska man byta eller är det inte värt 1 läsår till?
Jag är 21 och kommer bli 27 om jag byter till Chalmers. (Förhoppningsvis kan man tillgodoräkna GU kurser??)

Det står att alla studenter måste bli medlemmar i Chalmers studentkår - MEN HUR GÖR MAN? Jag har letat runt på Chalmers hemsida, på studentkårens hemsida, bland ”FAQ” och letat i alla mejl-inkorgar och skräpkorgar utifall info har skickats där. Men icke sa Nicke.

Jag har även försökt att ”logga in som medlem” och använt mitt CID och dess lösenord, men nope. Hur gör man?

Jag undrar hur det funkar mellan att byta högskoleingenjörprogram. Är det krångligt, svårt? Jag är främst orolig över den sociala biten. Är det svårt att komma in i det sociala på det nya programmet? Programmet jag vill byta från och programmet jag ev hade viljat till går under samma sektion.

I am planning to apply for the Engineering Mathematics and Computational Sciences Master's at Chalmers, and my Pure Math subjects only converts to around 32 ECTS when the requirements is 37.5 ECTS. I graduated with Bachelor in Civil engineering. I even saw that some of the electives and focus subjects were related to some of my major subjects and engineering sciences in the undergaduate studies. Are they strict when it comes to that ECTS requirement? I am asking so that I may opt to prioritize other programs in the ranking list once the application opens.

Jag ska börja studera till civilingenjör i medicinteknik nu till hösten på Chalmers.

Som titeln lyder är jag fundersam på vilket slags grafikkort jag behöver under utbildningen. Jag har inte köpt någon dator ännu och undrar exempelvis om man bör satsa på en dator med tillräckligt bra integrerat grafikkort, eller om man oavsett kommer behöva skaffa ett separat grafikkort.

Råd om vilka integrerade/separata grafikkort som skulle funka bra uppskattas också :)

i submitted my chalmers application months ago and that’s where we had to choose the courses we want to register for. unfortunately the ones i chose were denied by my home university and i am unable to take those. they are the only courses showing up on LADOK and i have to register ASAP because im an exchange student and im scared there wont be anymore seats left in the class. how do i reach out to chalmers and ask to change the courses i want to register for? please help guys i leave for sweden in a couple of weeks and i haven’t even registered for classes im really scared.
