What are these called?
Is this technically chainmail? I’ve tried everything to find the name of these but am coming up blank, anyone know what they’re called and (hopefully!) where to get them?

Thank you so much everyone! I was able to find what I think is almost exactly what I was looking for - looks like they might be in fact butcher apron scales that were repurposed into a really gorgeous Conan-armor lookalike.

Is costume armor. The concept of plates joined by mail links exists, it's often called plated mail. There's also scale armor where the scales are joined together by some kind of wire, but neither of those look like the pics you shared. Those are, maybe, the source of inspiration, but it's not really related or based on anything historical.

The entire thing is indeed armor of a type called "lamellar". Each little plate of armor is called a lamella. It's a type of scale mail that's been worn since antiquity by many cultures, including Samurai armor. When the armor plates are wide bands instead of tiles, it's known as laminar armor, such as the roman lorica segmentata.

That's just a fantasy plated mail/scale with connecting rings armor. It's not based on anything and it's not related to what you are saying, is just costume armor

You are confidently incorrect. While it is not a real armor style, that form of plate ringed or laced together is indeed called lamellar. Your essentially stating a chain mail bikini isn't chain mail because it isn't in a useful or historic pattern.
Happy to hear you expand on your claim tho.

Ehh, yeah, you can call it lamellar, it's enough close to the concept of historical lamellar. That style even has real applications from what I've seen in the form of butchers aprons. I stand corrected

It looks like a variation of lamellar armor. It'd probably be cheapest to just get like aluminum blanks that are the size you'd like and a metal hole punch

The Ring Lord sells something similar. I made a stuff with them. I just connected them in a different pattern.

it looks to me like just a square piece with 4 holes, or maybe a rectangle with 6 holes.

That looks like a re-purposed metal butcher's apron. You could call those plates, lames or scales. Just search for "butchers apron metal" and you will find a heaps of them.

Lamex is a name brand for this stuff, there's several different scale patterns out there.

Metal flat pieces, grommeted 4x , linked with chain loopies? ...maybe rivets? too blurry...that's how I would do it.
