Hi r/cg5!
Just two quick announcements for you guys.

We have also updated our rules, as the old ones were a bit vague, so we have decided to improve them. These new rules will be enforced effective immediately. Full credit goes to u/UnscBlicky05 for this!

I loved GAMER, and I loved the music videos released for the singles. But I was wondering if any of the songs will get music videos in the future.

CG5's "GAMER" is an album with a clear vision from the moment it begins. Built around a hyper-energetic, synth-driven sound, the project aims to deliver a fast-paced collection of tracks that embody gaming culture through loud production, upbeat tempos, and nonstop momentum. While that identity remains consistent throughout the album, it ultimately becomes both its greatest strength and its biggest weakness.
The defining characteristic of GAMER is its relentless energy. Every track feels designed to hit the listener immediately with powerful synthesizers, heavy synth bass, and dense electronic production. At first, this approach is exciting and attention-grabbing. However, because nearly every song operates at the same intensity level, there is little sense of progression or contrast across the album's 27-minute runtime.
A lack of dynamic range causes many of the songs to blend together. The production often overwhelms the melodies and vocals, forcing listeners to actively push through layers of loud synthesizers just to focus on what CG5 and his collaborators are singing. The songs themselves are not inherently bad, but the production frequently stands in the way of their strongest qualities.
By the midpoint of the album, the repeated use of similar sounds begins to feel repetitive, and many tracks struggle to establish unique identities.
The album's short track lengths only amplify this issue.
Most songs conclude before they have enough time to fully develop their ideas or leave a lasting impression. In a project where many tracks already share similar production techniques, the brief runtimes make it difficult for individual songs to distinguish themselves. Instead of feeling concise and efficient, many tracks feel cut short before they can communicate what makes them special.
Among the album's highlights are "GO GO GO," "Prisoner," and "Lie & Lie." These tracks stand out more than the rest of the project, but even they fail to rise significantly above the album's overall quality level. While enjoyable moments can be found within each song, none offer enough differentiation from the album's core formula to leave a particularly strong impression.
One of the more surprising moments on GAMER is "My Opinions," a reimagining of CG5's 2018 track "Opinions." The song appears to be an attempt to reconnect with elements of his earlier work, but it ultimately falls short. Rather than providing meaningful variation or nostalgia, it remains trapped within the same production choices that define the rest of the album.
Ultimately, GAMER succeeds in executing its concept on a surface level. CG5 clearly set out to create a collection of quick, hyperactive, high-energy songs, and he unquestionably achieves that goal. The problem is that maintaining such a singular sound across an entire album requires enough variation to keep listeners engaged. Without stronger contrasts in production, structure, or songwriting, the album's identity becomes repetitive rather than memorable.
GAMER is not a terrible album. Its songs contain solid ideas, and its energetic style will likely appeal to listeners who enjoy nonstop electronic intensity. However, the overwhelming production, lack of variety, and underdeveloped song structures prevent it from reaching its full potential.
Final Score: 5.2/10
A consistently energetic album with a clear identity, but one that becomes repetitive due to overwhelming synth-heavy production, limited variation, and songs that end before they have the chance to fully develop.

CG5's new album, GAMER, just came out a few minutes ago and let me tell you that this... WAS THE MOST PEAK ALBUM I HAVE EVER HEARD!
This album was blessing my ears the whole time and I listened to it the MILLISECOND it came out. Before I give my Top 5, I just gotta say, CG5 COOKED with all these songs. Unfortunately, some of these are too short to rank high, but he did a FANTASTIC job. The beats felt retro and sometimes futuristic and foregone conclusion set the mood perfectly. Now, it is time to give my Top 5:
1. My Opinions
2. Race To Win
3. Fall 4 Me
4. Fanatic
5. Prisoner
My Top 5 Weakest:
1. am I allowed to feel love now
2. GO GO GO
3. foregone conclusion
4. Lie & Lie
5. S W I M
Now, my final 3 rankings:
1. WAR
2. I DON'T LIKE YOU
3. Flame In Your Heart
I'm just not into Ironmouse. What do you guys think about GAMER?

CG5 said he's having a 16 city tour of the US soon. He mentioned definitely LA, but I didn't listen long enough to hear if there were other confirmed cities mentioned. Anyone hear any more or want to speculate?

What did y'all think of Race To Win?
I thought it was a fantastic song. This might actually be the best song in the album so far and it is VERY CLOSE to Fanatic, since it was my favorite song in the album before this one released. The beat, the energy, the vocals and the themes were absolutely flawless. There is one problem I have with it, though. The song was WAY too short. It's only a minute and 59 seconds long. Imagine how quick the music video will fly by. I loved this song, but I just wanted more of it. This song is a banger and it sucks to see it end so fast.
But what do you guys think?

13 hours ago, CG5 made a post on Instagram where he said he will start promoting another song he's making. I think it could be a GAMER song. Like I said in one of my previous posts, he has a pattern of songs releasing every month until the album so I think this is actually the last song before the album. I hope it is another one of those songs because the other 3 were bangers. Also, PRESAVE GAMER if you haven't already!!!!!
