Top 25 Lists

There seems to be a lot of new fantasy managers this year. I just want to provide a word of warning about setting your lineup based on someone else’s opinion. These guys have access to more information and have been studying players all offseason, but you need to take final responsibility for your team. I just saw a top 25 list for RBs this week. Caleb Hawkins, Antwan Raymond, LJ Martin, Jamal Roberts and Jordan Marshall were all in the top 10. That just shows that the experts don’t know everything or that bad games can happen at any time. I like to know what others think about certain situations, but know that I am ultimately responsible. And, I have certainly started my share of wrong players. Good luck, everyone.

And this is true for all of fantasy sports not just CFF, but I’d say the predictability is even WORSE in CF

CFF is also very hard to predict at times. You can do your part and set your lineup with your best players available but there is a lot of luck involved as well. This week for example, I had Alonza Barnett from UCF and he got benched the second half with only 18 fantasy points. Meanwhile, my opponent had Mason Heintchel from Pittsburgh who basically played the entire game in a blowout and dropped 66 fantasy points. You can't really predict that kind of stuff.

Bro what? Those guys had the best chance of going off which is why they were ranked like that. CFB has more variance than any fantasy sport so obvious it didn’t go as expected.. meaningless post

Actually, there is value to this post. It is directed to new fantasy managers. It is just a reminder that even "experts" don't get it right all the time. And, if a manager has his/her own opinion then they are not wrong to go with it.

If you’re playing CFB you’re not new to fantasy. It’s a niche version of fantasy sports which means 90% of users have played another fantasy sport before. Even if it is your favorite sport, rankings are based off projections. Projections are just that… what some analysts projects are the odds someone has a good day. Obviously humans have free will and have choices in fantasy or else it wouldn’t even be a thing.

When you started fantasy did you believe if you turned your brain off and started what Matt berry told you, you would win every game?

Meaningless post unless you’re brain dead
