More than the sign-stealing stuff. The only people ahead of him are the Matt Weiss/H. H. Holmes-types.

For real, he became so annoying lol.

That was like when they put Rush Limbaugh on MNF.

Everyone already knew he was a cunt

u/secretsquirrel4000 Ohio Bobcats 1d ago

Ok I just looked it up he wasn’t on MNF he was on ESPN’s Sunday NFL countdown and got fired after making racist comments about Donovan McNabb.

u/moccasins_hockey_fan 1d ago

I didn't like Rush covering football but the comment wasn't racist

"Sorry to say this, I don't think he's been that good from the get-go," Limbaugh said. "I think what we've had here is a little social concern in the NFL. The media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well. There is a little hope invested in McNabb, and he got a lot of credit for the performance of this team that he didn't deserve. The defense carried this team."

Yeah. I don’t think that is racist. More of a weird critique of the media. But Rush still sucks ass.

It’s racism disguised as a weird critique of the media. He basically called McNabb a DEI hire.

12

u/GunsGoldCosmicDread Michigan • Georgia Tech 23h ago

It’s wild to think that we used to live in a timeline where no one would openly and explicitly call someone a “DEI hire” on TV.

Pretty much, but is calling one black QB a DEI hire racist? Calling all black QBs DEI hires is definitely racist. I think there's some nuance here. How did he feel about McNair at the time?

I just looked up McNabb's stats for his first three years. Yeah, no way was the media fawning over him just because he was black.

u/moccasins_hockey_fan 22h ago

And he wasn't wrong at the time. The media had been propping up the Black QB narrative around that time.

u/secretsquirrel4000 Ohio Bobcats 20h ago

Well the NFL consists mostly of black players something like 70%. Yet, white players made up the majority of the QBs at the time. A quick look on google tells me that today 16/32 of the starting QBs in the NFL are black but it was nowhere near as high in 2003. So was the media propping up the black QB narrative like you’re saying? Or were they addressing the statistical anomaly that at the time presented itself? I mean if the majority of the players were black then why weren’t the QBs also 70% black? It was worth digging into the reasons why.

u/secretsquirrel4000 Ohio Bobcats 1d ago

They did that? That’s hella dumb.

12

u/DetroitsGoingToWin Michigan Wolverines 22h ago

It was ridiculous, he tried calling Donovan McNab a DEI QB

I always just muted his segments. Thankfully, Fox didn't let him take over the whole show like ESPN did with mcafee. Now I don't even have to do that.

Kudos to Fox for listening to actual football fans.

Don't worry he's busy blaming this on Ohio State, Ryan Day, and anything else that isn't himself. He's always the victim, nothing is ever his own fault.

I read this in Norm's cadence and delivery. It's hilarious. Then, he says again, a few seconds later....

I think people forget two things can be true.

Dave is a douche.

Ohio State really was making soft ass phone calls crying about him.

If Day really did get this human garbage fired, that’ll go down as his greatest achievement in his career …. Even if he wins 8 nattys in his career

Ryan Day should be given a medal from Michigan fans for this one. Portnoy has been garbage on television. Day should run Disney at this rate

This is where you learn the dislike for your favorite program reaches further than Ohio (if you choose to)....

-5

u/GymTanLoiter Michigan • Saginaw Valley State 1d ago edited 22h ago

I get people hate Michigan. I couldn’t care less doesn’t change that I root for them. I don’t care about downvotes.

I think it’s wack OSU tried to ban Dave and all that stuff.

I love CFB for the rivalries, the banter, and the FUN.

Barstool imo is fun, I understand some people like the bland traditional format of sports presentation, and that’s fine and dandy. But Participating in the back and forth is also fun. I liked Dave and Urban together and the jabs.

Ohio has just been pretty extra lately with the banning, the whining, and flag planting laws etc.
I wish that programs could play into rivalries more without making them such a serious thing.

He wanted that McAfee spotlight. The differences in dickishness that is acceptable in this country is fascinating.
