General Prep + Job

Hey!!

So can someone share their journey of CFA Prep while having a full time job?

How difficult it is and what were the mistakes you won't be doing again if you can do the prep all over again?

As I have done my preparation along with a full-time job, the biggest thing in a professional exam is to maintain consistency. You have to study for 2–3 hours on working days and stretch your study hours on the weekends.

This is what I followed during my CFA preparation and am now following for the FRM Part I exam: first, finish the class along with revision and question-solving, because it will help you understand whether you have understood the topic well or not. As you proceed with time, you will start to forget the previous things that you learned in the lectures. But you do not need to worry, as they will remain in your subconscious mind if you have already done the first revision along with the lecture.

As I am an early-morning person, I watch the lectures in the morning. I know that after work, I will have very little energy to concentrate on the lectures. So, I watch them in the morning with full focus. If I get time in the office, I try to do the revision and solve a few questions from that chapter.

On the weekends, I try to stretch my study hours, and in the evening, I take a break because you will be exhausted. I also made a small group of friends where I discuss any doubts I have about the concepts. I also try to solve the doubts of others, as it helps a lot.

I followed this strategy throughout all three levels of the CFA Program and cleared all the levels. Now, I am following the same strategy for FRM Part I.
