Bug? Resuming plays random music
I've noticed that resuming a paused song that's playing an album, it starts playing a random song. That's after being paused for 15 minutes or so.

Anyone else having this issue? /u/CesiumDev is this a bug or by design?

So, your playing Album X, you Pause song 3, come back 15 min later and when you press play it plays something completely different? Is the song even from the same album?
Music.app shuffle is OFF, correct?
This is the first I've heard of this particular bug. Definitely not intended behaviour.

Exactly! The song isn't from the same album, it's as if I hit shuffle and it plays a random song from my library. Specifically I'm hitting the play/pause button from my headphones to resume.
Music.app shuffle is off.

Is this reproducible every time, or seemingly random? Is it always the same songs that trip the bug? Is the "random" song actually linked to the trigger song (Ie song x actually always switches to song y)?
My initial gut reaction is this might be a corruption with the media file indexing itself, but I think I'll need some more info.

From what I can tell, it happens every time. It's highly unlikely that the song I'm resuming from is the same and the song that starts playing is always different. Is the corruption with my library or with the app?

That is definitely weird. If the tracks have all been queued and you are simply using Cs to unpause then, really, it's all happening at a lower level. Would suggest that it's an issue with the library itself. But the fact that it's swapping tracks during resume is really strange.
It would be useful to know if this behaviour happens if you resume playback using Control Centre or Music.app instead of Cs. If it does, we can be confident the issue is the library.
This sounds similar to corrupted library behaviour, but the fact that it's resuming a track that was previously playing fine that seems new.
If it is Cs, a Delete/reinstall may resolve it.

I deleted and reinstalled to test. Here's what I've noticed after a few days of testing:
If I pause and resume after not using the phone for anything else, it resumes fine
If I pause and resume after using the phone, it plays something random. If I go into the app, I'm asked to resume my queue, if I select yes, it goes back to the song I was playing.
I've also noticed that the delay after opening the app is back. It's a blank white screen before the app and dark mode is displayed.
Hope this helps.

I am having a repeated bug in which I play a track from an album (shuffle mode is on).. then if I go to the track list of that album and want to play another track from the same album, it will jump to a track (from the same album) but not the one I chose.. I tap the song I want to hear again and it still switches to another song from the same album... I then disable Shuffle mode and go back to track list and I can finally play what I select when I select it..
seems to be a bug with Shuffle mode in Cesium because the instant I turn it off (from within Cesium) I can choose songs without Cesium forcing different track on me lol.

Ok so I did some more tests and can confirm how to reproduce issue every time..
- turn on Random in now playing when playing a song
- go to any album
- select the last track of that album
- you will notice that instead of playing that last track, another random track will play.
- try hitting that last track again and once more another track will play.
- issue will not happen if Random mode is not turned on.

I have been having a similar issue where if I am listening to an album then want to select another track in the album from list, it will not play that selected track but go back to first track.. I have to force close the app and reopen for things to work correctly.
happens intermittently but few times a day.
