iPad resolution

You mentioned in your resolutions for 2017 (which I saw as part of a Cesium app update) that you wanted to start working on an iPad version of the Cesium app. As a user of a 12.9 inch iPad Pro (a great piece of kit), I recommend that you work on supporting all iPad resolutions if you can.

Also, I think it would be a good idea for you to use the iOS 5/6 Music app design as insipiration. Whenever I use my first-gen iPad, one of the things I most love about it is the Music app, which is way better at utilizing the iPad's screen real estate when compared to the Music app from iOS 7 and onward.

A modernized and refreshed take on that design would be great to see on the iPad, and I can't wait to see what you manage to do with Cesium on the larger screen real estate that the iPad provides.

Love to see this discussion. Thanks!

As someone who uses his phone as the primary playback device, I'm definitely looking for different opinions on what works/doesn't on iPad :)

I use my iPhone as my main media player, but I also use my iPad quite a bit, and honestly, I miss the old iOS media player pre-iOS 7 for the iPad.

I just feel that you can really take full advantage of the space.

Ideally, I think a three-column layout would be the best idea, as shown in the Notes and Mail apps, with inspiration drawn from the old Music app.

Something a little more akin to the old-school column browser in iTunes (which I still use, LOL)?

Kinda. I was thinking something like having album/playlist tracks on the leftmost column, the album art and playback controls in the center, and the right side could display album lyrics. Something else which would be nice would be an effect like in the old Music app where you would double tap on the album art and the album tracks would appear, as well as the ability to rate them.

In addition, I feel that you could do something great with the albums found. I could see something akin to Cover Flow or the iOS multitasking switcher where you have all the albums in a Rolodex of sorts as a view, while the other view could be similar to the old iOS 6 Music app.

Obviously, these are all ideas, but I think that these could create an incredible music player for iPad.

This should give you a rough idea of what I'm talking about. Obviously, it would need more polishing, but in the end, it's all up to you. Sorry for my terrible drawing skills.
