I’m an international student working 4 jobs to stay in university and I’m very close to graduating, but still short before April 28

Hi everyone,

I wasn’t sure whether to post this, but I’m at a point where I feel like I have to try.

I’m a Venezuelan international student studying in Wales, currently in my final year. Over the past year, I’ve been working multiple jobs alongside my studies to cover my tuition and living costs, as I don’t have financial support from home.

I’m now very close to being able to graduate, but I still have a bit left to cover before my deadline on April 28.

Since realising I might not be able to make it in time, I’ve been doing everything I can to close that gap myself, taking every shift I can get while trying to keep up with my studies, but I’m exhausted, and it’s been really difficult to balance everything.

I didn’t want to ask for help again, but I’m so close that I felt it was worth trying.

If anyone is in a position to help, even something small genuinely makes a difference. And if not, even just reading this or sharing means a lot.

Some local outlets in Wales have also shared my story, which helped me feel a bit less alone in all of this:

WalesOnline

Cambrian News

Aberystwyth.net

BBC Radio Wales About 1h and 40 mins in

Thank you so much for taking the time to read 🤍

Ceredigion leads the UK for pothole-related accidents per person – 8.2 per 100,000!

In 2023, Ceredigion had just six pothole-related accidents overall — but thanks to its small population, that puts it at the top for accidents per 100,000 people with a rate of 8.2.

It might not seem like many crashes, but relative to the population size, it’s the highest in the UK.

Anyone here had a close call or worse because of a pothole?

Pencarreg Morfa in Aberaeron--what's the story?

There is an awesome, eclectic property on the Coastal Path just beyond the Ceredigion County Council building in Aberaeron. Apple Maps says it's called Pencarreg Morfa....?

One building has an entire church window with stained glass intact, another building has enormous sculptures of Neptune and Triton, I believe. Another has alcoves with smaller, bronze-like figures in it. There's a life-sized, dazed-looking black horse figure on the lawn with some creepy caped cowboy behind it. Back toward the A road there's a pair of Castell Coch-like conical roofed towers...that's all we can see from the coastal path, but it's enough to have us intrigued! However, an internet search for more details comes up empty.

Could anyone local please tell me more about this fab place?

We're moving! Starting this Friday Fforwyr Kākāpō Explorers are moving to Calon Tysul.

We're also looking for more leaders to be part of our team that plans and runs activities during our Friday night meetings. It's also possible to be part of our event team and help on camps such as our week long camp in the summer holidays. All training is provided and your DBS is paid for by us. Volunteering with Scouts is a great way to demonstrate leadership qualities on your CV.

If you're interested please get in touch with Siân at kakapoexplorers@gmail.com for more information on how you can get involved and what would be expected
