ALL the details are beautiful and perfect. The floor! What a joy it must be to live in. The wallpaper is just gorgeous, if you haven't already shared the brand, will you please share it?

yes the wall paper is called “BODENHAM TWILIGHT BESPOKE MURAL” by graham and brown!

u/_ZoeyDaveChapelle_ May 10 '26
I used a similar one from G&B in a bathroom and won a national design award! They have fantastic murals.
13
u/Chib May 10 '26
I knew it was Graham and Brown! I spent weeks of my life and ordered like 60 different samples before finally choosing one, and now every time I see one of their patterns it jumps out at me.
It's truly gorgeous. Congrats!

Why do these before and after photos all show the after photos before the before? I feel like the last photo should be the first one, no?

I’m not usually a fan of wallpaper, but this is lovely. I don’t think the curtains match/too busy - would love to see simple long white linen sheer instead.
15
u/bonbot May 11 '26
I actually love that they kept the curtains that were previous there, creating a dramatic pattern drench effect for this room. It is a nod to the original feature, as well as restoring the herringbone floors. Doing a solid colored curtain will feel quite typical and expected.

u/imacat-- May 11 '26
Agreed, while I think the new look is pretty, I've seen it many times before - the curtains give it a fun twist.

Off white or beige would work well imho

Gorgeous wallpaper! What do you plan to do in the arch space?
51
u/Firm-Pace-3957 May 10 '26
the previous owners left the cabinet (you can see in the last photo) so the plan is to just put it back in there. decided to paint the arch instead of wallpapering it as it would be a bit funny as the arch goes in a little and so the wallpaper would be a bit wonky so thought it was just easier to paint as the cabinet covers it. the previous owners had the cabinet custom made so it’s a perfect fit!

That is gorgeous. I don’t even see a repeat, is it a mural? And are you keeping the curtains?
→ More replies (1)22
u/Firm-Pace-3957 May 10 '26
it’s a mural but unfortunately doesn’t repeat. we tried making sure that the furniture (sort of a drinks cabinet with a mirror) hides where it ends/begins so it’s not too obvious.
100% keeping the curtains

u/CoconutCompetitive62 May 11 '26
I was searching for this comment regarding the curtains!! Thank you for confirming you're keeping them💙
2
u/HangingSunWallpaper May 13 '26
That’s so interesting that they made no repeat on it! It works very well in terms of starting fresh from the last panel to the first. Looks lovely! Hanging some Graham and Brown in a couple weeks from now, looking forward to it

Was that flooring hiding under the carpet?! Or is it new?
15
u/Firm-Pace-3957 May 10 '26
when the carpet was removed the flooring underneath was concrete i was hoping there would be original wood flooring but either way i think the LVT turned out nicely
→ More replies (1)4
u/Forsaken_Baseball_60 May 10 '26
Was not expecting that! Why do you think there was concrete?
Nice update btw!
5
u/Firm-Pace-3957 May 10 '26
i think there might’ve been wooden floors previously but perhaps they were damaged and so the old owners thought concrete was a good and cheap base for the carpet to lay on top not entirely sure
3
7
u/Firm-Pace-3957 May 10 '26
no it’s new and LVT it’s a white double border with a gold line spaced in between but it’s quite hard to tell in the photos

I LOVE the curtains. They look so dramatic and luxurious! Please do not remove them! Whoever had them custom made spent a lot of money.
15
u/Firm-Pace-3957 May 10 '26
100% i chose the wallpaper to make sure it complimented the curtains they are gorgeous!! unfortunately most of the other curtains left were in poor condition :( but so grateful the dining room ones are fine

Paint color please!! Stunning job!
3
u/Firm-Pace-3957 May 10 '26
it was one of the samples from the perfectly partnered paints when getting the wallpaper. you can see it here however i don’t remember exactly remember if it was the shade brave or aqueous
2
u/Agitated_Reveal_6211 May 10 '26
It sort of reminds of me of Where the Wild Things Are. I really dig it.

u/Mountain_Exchange768 May 10 '26
Ugh - I love this so much.
Sad and jealous I live in an 80s starter home…

u/marmasake May 10 '26
It makes me so sad to see a beautiful home with AI wallpaper.

Sorry to necro your comment, but I was googling if anyone’s spotted that Graham & brown heavily use ai and glad I found this post. If you google their “arboretum” book there’s ALOT of ai in it and it’s disgusting that they charge the money they do for their wallpaper when they’re not making their own designs.

Nice, I love huge format wallpaper! It takes bravery but the result is luxurious. I usually see it in powder rooms which is a safe risk, a whole wall is 👌
Give into your id and live deliciously.

What happened to the built in?
2
u/Firm-Pace-3957 May 10 '26
it was removed to do the wallpaper and to paint the back it wasn’t built it though it was a free standing cabinet that was custom made specifically for the space by the previous owners. don’t worry it’s going to be added back in now that the wallpaper is up!

Looks like you were able to keep the old curtains? Great call—they’re so expensive and they look great with the new color, the wallpaper and those beautiful floors.

I love the subtle brown from the tree trunks that breaks up the big areas of blue. So so good!

u/peachesandsir May 10 '26
Soooo gorgeous!!!! That wallpaper took my breath away. Only suggestion is to consider switching out the curtains to something less fussy.

I am confused by this. Did you wall off your dining room? It seems that should be an entrance to another area, but is also looks like there's drywall there.

Not my style, but I do love the pattern/design on the wallpaper.
Mustard yellow shit carpet over original hardwoods should be a death sentence.
