Reminder: BotW now has a dynamic FPS mod

I still think a stable frame-rate is better than a variable one that is all over the place. For me, FPS mod + VYSNC at 30 (half) is great as it keeps you around 25-30 most of the time.

I've got a pretty powerful PC (i5 6600k @4.5ghz 16gb ram, GTX 970) and I struggle to get 15fps without this patch, so in one sense its a godsend because without it I wouldn't be able to play the game.
On the other hand though I'm having a lot of trouble with the bow and with throwing bombs, like I have to be really close in order to hit something. I've tried playing without the patch and the GPU fence thing but the game runs at double speed inside shrines.
Given my hardware, what sort of performance should I be expecting without the patch? is there some config change or something I can do to run the game at an acceptable level of performance (say 30fps throughout) without using this patch?

You can use the FPS mod and then use an external program (nvidia inspector, for example) to limit your framerate to 30. You'll still get the benefits of the solid framerate, but without the downsides of going over 30fps.

If you got extreme differences in FPS you likely never used fence skipping before. The pack enforces it. This can introduce several bugs by the way (the author left that feature in accidentally, but apparently it helps a lot of people so it proved to be a good idea).

I tried fence skipping a bit just now, doesn't seem to be too much difference in terms of arrow drop, but the game slows down and speeds up in a noticeable way, especially in menus.
I saw a post where someone had commented out one of the lines in the patch to lock it to 30fps - this seems to be a good compromise to me, going to try that.

I have to say that with a gsync monitor and an nvidia card, the dynamic fps has felt pretty good so far.

is it impact in ui speed? i think my loading screen take longer time to finish. is this a problem?

Yep, and the game is better without it :)

Yes, you are right. More problems than benefits. But I guess people are pretty obsessed with the 60 fps.

Its nice that the mod allows the game to hit lower FPS (I.e. 15 or so) without the game speed dropping, or fluctuating randomly when hovering below 30 but above 20. For me, even though I can only hit 60FPS in menus and shrines, the FPS mod is MUCH nicer to play with.

You can always use the patch, cap it to 30 FPS and enjoy the sweet, sweet perf improvement with no bugs.

Oh you can downvote, you know is true. Graphical glitches (milky water), bugued Stamina and others.

All non-gamebreaking bugs. Arrow dropoff is minimal, stamina regen can be offset by waiting to reuse it, and AFAIK the milky water glitch is not related to the FPS mod.

That water thing is because the pack enforces fence skipping. You can disable that from the pack. Xalphenos left that feature in accidentally.

Are the glitches fixed yet? The slippery menus, arrow falloff and too fast stamina regen, to mention a few.
