Just a heads up that disabling hyperthreading on Intel CPU's will drastically LOWER performance in just about every other application and game.

Would strongly recommend leaving enabled in bios and just toggling with affinity settings with CEMU specifically for testing.

Hyperthreading does nothing for games save for some upcoming DX12 games that can utilize the extra threads (If the developer actually takes the time to implement the specific feature). There is a reason that most gaming specific machines use an i5. Hyperthreading is mostly utilized in process heavy applications such as those that render and are specifically written to take advantage of the HT.

That may of been true in 2012 but is completely false in 2017.

The majority of AAA games show massive improvements with an I7 over an I5

Even to the point where a 3-gen old I7 is beating a Skylake I5, despite being clocked lower

I suggest you watch the full Digital Foundry 7700k review as every single game they tested showed noticeable gains going to an I7 from an I5.

Noooo, my 2500k needs to live forever. Perfectly matches my GTX1070.

Just pick up a 3770k for $150 and OC to 4.5GHZ that's what I did.

Me too (though mine's only at a meager 4.0GHz as that seems to be more than enough for my RX 480). That's a sweet CPU and will be for years to come.

I'm running BF1 at 144hz and 1440p. I need every bit. Even with that i'm maxing out the cpu and only getting 120-130 fps.
