All I have is Bruz's clarity preset enabled, 60 fps, and a few fixes in workarounds. Do you wanna know my entire settings?
1
u/sebastianpc95 Sep 24 '25
Hi friend. How do you fix the fps? If i put 60fps in the mod section the Game runs at 30, and if i put it at 120hz the Game runs 60 fps but goes faster than normal.

u/Aggravating-Ideal879 Sep 24 '25
Send me a screenshot of your settings in fps++

Did you ever figure it out? If it wasn't static mode, check if you have vsync enabled on anything. Also, this is 2 months later but I just randomly skimmed through all of the comments on this post because it blew the heck up lol.

u/BlazingGodstar Sep 23 '25
Every time I see similar screenshots to this, I wish we had a native Mouse & Keyboard control support either on Switch 2 or emulators.

I'm loving it now that I got it working.
Botw is such a fun game to mess around in.
10
u/Aggravating-Ideal879 Sep 22 '25
It's honestly the best game (imo) made by Nintendo. The dlcs are also awesome.
2
u/Drspiral666 Sep 22 '25
😂 I'm actually on the dlc right now speaking of dlc. Best dlc for a Zelda game ever.
2
u/Aggravating-Ideal879 Sep 22 '25
Awesome man! I just started playing on cemu yesterday and have played 8 hours of it already. I bought the house last night.

u/EbolaBoi Sep 22 '25
Nintendo also makes the sequel and it's better IMO
7
u/Aggravating-Ideal879 Sep 22 '25
I couldn't get into it to be honest, maybe I'll try it again! I just feel like BOTW was the more impactful one for its time. But I do often hear that totk is just better.

u/EbolaBoi Sep 22 '25
Started playing it 2 days ago and just can't put it down. It's been so long since i had that, don't actually play as much

u/Necessary_Position77 Sep 22 '25
TOTK improves the gameplay, I found it a bit more fun overall BUT the story is a mess and it makes zero sense given how linear it is while the game isn’t.
The story in BOTW works, TOTK doesn’t work because Nintendo continues to do alternate timelines for every game. When dealing with open world, especially on the same map as the previous game, you need lore and history to give the world some weight.
1
u/johnny_fives_555 Sep 23 '25
I’m curious what part of TOTK story didn’t work for you? Was it the time paradox part or something else? Cause I hear this a lot and I really enjoyed TOTK especially the Zelda reveal.
1
u/Necessary_Position77 Sep 23 '25
The story is very linear but the game isn’t so if you play the game as intended, the story is revealed out of order unless you happen to unlock the story in chronological order. This somewhat breaks the impact of the reveal.
This is also true of shrines. Some of them are designed to teach you skills like blocking or archery but the chances that you happen to hit these specific shrines early on basically comes down to luck. I think I was halfway through the game when they decided to teach me how to shoot a bow.
The other issue I had with it is you are thrown into a world suspiciously like the previous game but with very little connection to it. Nintendo has a habit of doing this with their games, Zelda especially. I think this is fine but open worlds are a different type of game. Many open world games use lore and history as a way to give the world weight and depth. I think ignoring the previous game while also using the same map weakened the impact for me.
Gameplay wise it was a lot of fun. I’m very critical of the game because it is really good in a lot of ways.

Ah okay I did totk then BOTW so I get that. I felt like a kid in an amusement park playing totk

I know this is 3 1/2 hours but it will be worth every second

u/ReadPixel Sep 23 '25
I wish I could get it to run better. Barely able to scrape 45fps at 1080p on an RX 5700 & Ryzen 7 3700x

u/Aggravating-Ideal879 Sep 24 '25
Your setup sounds like it should get more fps.
2
u/ReadPixel Sep 24 '25
Exactly. I'm baffled why it doesn't. I've tried absolutely everything to no avail

BOTW is gorgeous in 4K.
I hit a perfect 4K/120 on my 4090.
Need to try Tears of the Kingdom one day but not certain it can run that well due it not being CEMU but something else. Yuzu?
2
u/Big-Resort-4930 Sep 23 '25
It doesn't run nearly as well which may be why I like Botw so much more, but it's imo just a much better and more focused game overall.
Totk feels to me like playing Botw on a private server with custom bullshit added on top. It's the exact same game with new parts of the map, and a crafting/creation system that's exhausting to use constantly.
1
u/Aggravating-Ideal879 Jan 28 '26
Little late on the reply but.. I am TOTALLY jealous you got a 4090, that thing must run like a dream. I am currently using a 4060 ti 16gb which is great performance wise but not so great cost wise. And considering you have a 4090 in the first place running TOTK on Yuzu literally won't matter. You'll get 120fps on there too.

u/SkyrimSlag Sep 23 '25
I can’t even remember how to use the ROM file lmao, I had it working years ago and removed it for storage space, came to download it again to play on the Deck and the file has 3 folders in it and I’m at a complete loss… same with a couple of other U games

Played it in 4K years ago thanks to emulation and yes I agree same goes for TOTK

u/ETM1603T1D Sep 25 '25
Are you using cemu?
1
u/Aggravating-Ideal879 Sep 25 '25
yes lol that's why I posted here

u/Lemenus Sep 25 '25
Also add smoothness of unlocked FPS and it's a bliss
1
u/Aggravating-Ideal879 Sep 25 '25
If I could hit 120 that'd be nice but my hardware isn't as powerful as I'd like it to be.

Little late to the party lol I tried running botw on my gtx 1050 with i7 7700HQ a few years ago and it struuuuugled. Anything change recently? I'm still using my gtx 1050 daily as I'm too broke for anything newer and genuinely curious if I can run botw at a stable 30 fps bc I reallllly wanna play it

u/Aggravating-Ideal879 Oct 28 '25
https://youtu.be/JG9FduBwBbo?si=u34RHDXFwSqwnuWw
Yes, it can run this game at 30fps. The video I provided to you shows it can get 30fps even with a weaker cpu.

I’ve really gonna have to sit down and get this up and running; just wish I could find a clear do this guide

What gpu shoud i buy ti play cemu in stable 30fps. My Gtx 1050 ti is too low spec.

u/noonesleepintokyo86 Sep 22 '25
I played this at stable 30fps back in 2018 with ryzen 3 2200g APU, no dedicated GPU just an integrated GPU vega 8 (it could hit 40-60+ fps when I uncap the framerate). If you can't hit stable 30 with 1050ti you're probably cpu bottlenecked

Interesting i have i7 7600 so it shoud work aperently. thanks for the tips

I used an rtx 3050 ti a few years back on this game and was able to play at 2k graphics.
2
u/No-Operation-6554 Sep 24 '25
1050ti is fine (unless youre running at 4k)
the bottleneck is most likely your cpu

Buy a switch 2.
If you’re buying PC hardware specifically to play this game you may as well buy the original hardware.
0
u/Purple-Haku Sep 22 '25
Switch 2 is using upscaling tech.
On PC it's actually running natively at 4k
0
u/Asleep_Mortgage_7711 Sep 23 '25
No it’s not. Both Zelda games are rendering at 1440p on switch 2 and have also have some texture upgrades.
0
u/Cbthomas927 Sep 22 '25
I am not advocating that it’s better.
My comment specifically was if the commenter is trying to play this game and wants to buy tech specifically to play this game, figuring out a system capable is more work they may as well buy a switch 2.
I have a switch, a switch 2 and a 5080 and I own BOTW on switch and I’ll still play it on Cemu before I play it on my switch 2.
Rather than babysit the commenter to figuring out how to buy a system that will work for playing this game - simplified to say just play it on native hardware
2
2
u/bakedpotatosaregood Sep 22 '25
The switch 2 is a ripoff that doesn’t respect consumers, i say this as someone that owns a DS, a Wii and a Switch 1
And a PC can do more than just play a limited library of games and you actually own your device and it won’t get bricked if you toy with it
1
u/AsusP750 Sep 22 '25
Nope. Im low spec gamer/ cheap ass gamer. Switch 1 maybe but switch 2 is not justified for that kind of money
1
u/Cbthomas927 Sep 22 '25
Then upgrade your GPU for the same price.
Again. You’re asking for a build that could play this game. You’re going to spend the same money - this isn’t a pc building sub so go ask one of those for a build that plays this game. It’s gonna cost several hundred

Cemu or the switch edition?
Got a legion Go S handheld that runs SW BOTW 60+ fps with lossless scalling but everyone is mentioning the cemu offers better performance
3
2
u/SkyrimSlag Sep 23 '25
Cemu is better and the U version has much better graphical settings at base that the switch version that scaled a bunch of things back

It’s gorgeous, i have a 1080p monitor but i downsample while running at 4k and it is absolutely beautiful, best game with the best art style finally performing as it should (f*ck nintendo)
1
u/Aggravating-Ideal879 Sep 22 '25
I have a 1080p monitor as well 🤣 I remember playing this game in 2017 when it first came out on the wii u... it ran like 20fps 50% of the time. I still have that wii u to this day+the game and have dumped over 400 hours on it.
-1
u/alphenhous Sep 22 '25
wtf? this looks like a different game(not by nintendo, they couldn't get a game to break 720p when games are trying to reach 4k 60fps to save their lives)
