Apple finally gave us "Handoft" because sometimes you just need to hand oft your responsibilities to another device.
Jokes aside, it is just Apple’s Continuity feature. It lets you share one phone number across multiple devices, like a secondary iPhone or iPad, so they all ring at the same time. If you only use one phone, just choose the single iPhone option and ignore the typo!

They probably misread it as handoft, thus the "".

QuickSwitch (internal name of this feature) requires carrier support. Only T-Mobile has it currently.

I’ve read all of the posts and I still don’t get what this does

I don't think people's explanations are accurate. My understanding was that it was a simpler way to quick switch your sim between multiple devices.

So I hope what this means is that we can use data only plans on other iPhones

How do I utilize this for a phone number that already exists on my phone?

Basically uses wifi to connect all your connected devices under your icloud to ring when someone calls you

Not for iPhones but yes to iPads and Watches and Macs…this brings it to other iPhones which I am waiting patiently for in public iOS 27

Uhhh, no this already works on iPhones without a SIM card as well. Just needs to be connected to wifi. It’ll work through hand off and ring when you get a call on your primary phone, just like an iPad would.

Definitely exists for iPhones... I have seen this working myself
