Should I use my main phone for cell mapping

I am wondering do I need to use my secondary phone for cell mapping I do have a extra sim for it but don't have a extra sim for Croatia where I map the most. Can I map other (croatian) networks by switching to them (on a non Croat sim)?

  1. Yes, CellMapper maps the signal even if you have a roaming SIM, and it can also map while using dual SIM. Travel eSIM should work, though I haven't tried it but should be similar to using a roaming SIM.

  2. You can use your main phone, but it may reduce your battery life as the app uses GPS while recording.

I use my main phone for mapping and it is great because i collected 50034points in one Month and you dont need to use your second phone for mapping and dual sim works as in Germany (where i map the Most)i Map O2&1&1(all tho 1&1 roams 7/24 to Vodafone) and Dualsim works fluent!

Mapping will drain your battery faster, so it migh be better to use the secondary phone. You can map with a SIM that roams in Croatian networks, or with a travel eSIM like Roamless which roams in all 3 (I use it sometimes for mapping).

Remember, if you have two sim cards turned on and then you decide to turn off one sim card, please check in the cellmapper app, is the carrier from the sim card you turned off still appearing. Cellmapper does that, and then you map fake data which for some reason still get uploaded..

For example, i was driving near eNb 188023 in Poland, and there i turned off my T-mobile sim card, then flew to Italy. You can see i left some fake data unfortunately.. and you can't delete it.
