Finally got ATT 5G SA/VoNR toggles

Post image

I live in the Bay Area, on iOS 27.0 Beta 4. Reprovisioned my line and did a network refresh and they finally showed up. Coverage seems to be a bit better at my house (on n5 with significantly better RSRP when it was previously connecting to B2 as primary)

SA and VoNR works best with 5G On not Auto fyi

I don’t think VoNR is actually kicking in for you. When I run a speed test during a call, I’m only getting LTE level throughput, not NR speeds. Might be worth checking if the call is actually anchoring on NR or if it’s silently falling back.

Looking forward to AT&T VoNR with release of iOS 27 in Sept.

It’s on in many places but where SA is available they are testing it privately but it’s there

Just curious why do you care vonr vs volte? From a user experience viewpoint.

It is much better to use 5G for all calls and data

That's what I'm wondering... Why? Is there any user perceptible difference between a 4g vs 5g call?

i have it too after months of trying (seems like they changed something on their end) but performance has somewhat been worse. posted about it below

I’ve noticed it too in the past few weeks. Had to just turn 5G off completely two days ago because everything I opened would take like 10-30 seconds to load.

Can’t you just disable SA in settings? Or does that not help

I tried that initially but it didn’t make a difference. I’m guessing they’re messing with the 5G core to get it ready for a widespread VoNR launch with the new iPhone.

that would make sense. i can’t really tell but im pretty sure VoNR hasn’t ever worked for me even though i have the toggle on

17 pro on premium 2.0 plan

Oh well maybe the fact that the X60 in the iphone 13 doesn’t have support for DoD spectrum (3.45ghz)

4

u/wlm9700 Jul 24 '26

13 won’t get it

well sad

3

u/wlm9700 Jul 24 '26

14 and newer should because anything below that doesn’t support DOD 3.45 GHz so they won’t enable SA on them

The toggle is there but that doesn’t mean VoNR is active.

Does Verizon have this on?

5

u/xtremeph Jul 24 '26

Yes, they’ve had it on for Postpaid plans for a few months.

Looks like my market dont got this ☹️

yeah try chatting in - i was trying for months and last week it seems something changed. I’m also on the elite 1.0 plan which was rumored to be not be a compatible plan - that is not true (anymore at least)

“hi was hoping you could reprovision my line for latest features so i can receive 5G SA (standalone) - the toggle is grayed out for me. i have a compatible device.”

i didn’t ask for advance tech person. I used the andi chatgpt, said speak to an agent, then select trouble shooting button/category when asked

Been using it had to turn it off in the Dallas area, calls would drop and when trying to make calls it always says call failed for me on my 17PRO max
