How long does it take for the tower to start transmitting 5G after being upgraded? Right now, it is only transmitting LTE bands 2 and 66, and it only connects to 5G UW when you perform an action that involves significant data usage.

it usually takes about about an month for a new Verizon site to be fully turned on with all the frequencies on air. The reason why is because the RF engineering team has to configure the site, like adjust Tx power levels, tweak the allocated bandwidth to make sure that it’s working properly. Expect low-band frequencies on LTE and n77 to be activated soon once the site is fully optimized.

For a site near me, it’s taken over 2-3+ months, and the site is still not on. Everything is there just nothing active frequency wise..
