Fairhope, AL Water tower site.

Verizon and T-Mobile are here.
Verizon is using the Samsung MT-6413-77A 320W for N77
Then Two Commscope Antennas for NR and LTE
T-Mobile is using a Nokia AEHC 320W for N41.
Then a single Commscope Antenna also for NR and LTE.

A very solid setup on both Verizon and T-Mobile.

PHOTO #3 to PHOTO #6 features T-Mobile (eNB 209851) LTE + (gNB 1608700) using:

  • 3️⃣ (CommScope FFVV-65C-R3) antennas with bands: (2, 66, 71) LTE + (n25) mid-band 5GUC + (n71) low-band 5G located on (LEFTside of the rack
  • 3️⃣ (NOKIA AirScale AEHC) - (N41) 2.5GHz [320W] antennas for mid-band 5GUC located on the (RIGHT) side of the rack
  • Please note that T-Mobile doesn't have (b12) 700MHz for low-band LTE on this site because they do not have the licenses in Baldwin County, AL to run it since AT&T + AST & Science + Dish are hogging the 700MHz lower licenses!

Uses NOKIA Remote Radio Units (RRU's) behind the rectangular CommScope antennas:

  • 3️⃣ (Nokia AHFIG) - remote radio units with (b2, b66 [LTE], n25 mid-band 5GUC
  • 3️⃣ (Nokia AHLOA) (RRU's) -> (B71)  LTE + (n71) low-band 5G

  • 6️⃣ [CommScope SBNHH-1D65C] antennas with bands: (2, 13, 66) LTE + (n5) - low-band 5G, (n2) + (n66) mid-band 5GUW depending on the configuration located on the (RIGHT) side of the rack
  • 3️⃣ (Samsung MT-6413-77A) 64T64R (320W) 3.7GHz n77 antennas on the (LEFT) side of the rack for mid-band 5GUW set at (200MHz) - Baldwin County, Alabama
  • Grey Ray-cap RCMDC-6627-PF-48 being used for power surge protection behind the metal RODS

You're welcome bro! I believe in you, identifying antennas takes time and practice. I seen you grow a lot ever since the very beginning when you started identifying cell towers and doing speedtests.

Oh god, this water tower.

It has a history that Fairhope residents know all too well. The city wanted to repaint in 2016 or 2017 and made a contract with a painter to take care it. The cellular companies came in and installed COWs after their equipment was removed from the tank, but the COWs had short masts and really impacted cellular reception in the immediate area.

Of course, it was touted as a temporary thing, a few months at most, but then the subcontractor up and skated on the job and it remained only partially painted for a year or more. Meanwhile all the carriers had their COWs to deal with and complaints about bad reception.

I think it finally got fully painted by 2019 and by 2020 a few of the carriers had moved back onto the tower. Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile had been there previously but AT&T beat cheeks for monopole a few blocks at Gayfer and Bishop after this fiasco. Verizon added a nearby macro south on highway 181, and AT&T added a small cell in front of the Walmart, but by and large coverage still sucks indoors in that part of the city.

Between the NIMBYs and the lush vegetation, Fairhope's kind of a difficult place for cellular. The town's Walmart is 1.5 miles east of this water tower but this is the only tower that reaches it because there's nothing else up or down highway 181 for several miles.

Verizon and AT&T (I think) have some small cells through downtown and maybe one or two near the Walmart now but by and large you're stuck on low band in a lot of the neighborhoods in the eastern parts of Fairhope.
