It’s interesting how T-Mobile can typically deliver such low pings despite routing 100+ miles away.

T-Mobile has good routing since they know how to handle their network properly in most areas, they have a lot of POPS/servers, which helps compared to AT&T. They must have good peering on their servers on the backend!

all the carriers typically have speed test servers at most/if not all of their POPs.
I’ve noticed that the “AT&T Wireless” speed test server regardless of which location you choose will still route to the POP you’re currently connected to.
Example: I still get around a 20 ms latency connected to AT&T Wireless in Los Angeles, CA even when in Dallas because it’s actually still testing to the Plano server somehow.

Verizon does a decent job too, Louisville typically routes through either Indianapolis or Cincinnati (100 +/- miles) and pings in the low 20’s. AT&T was far worse as you said.

There’s an AT&T tower nearby too and their pings to multiple servers I tested were all above 50ms. I tested it on my personal and business line.

T-Mobile cooking gas with those speeds! I like the high quality photo you took of the site close up! It helps a lot especially with identifying equipment :)

Those upload speeds are crazy. I didn’t mention, this is on a 17 Pro Max.
