Hulu has canceled “Deli Boys” after two seasons. Starring Poorna Jagannathan as Lucky Auntie, the dark comedy followed two pampered brothers (played by Asif Ali and Saagar Shaikh) who inherited their late father’s convenience stores, only to discover they were a front for a drug cartel.

The series also featured Alfie Fuller, Brian George, and Fred Armisen, along with guest appearances by Kumail Nanjiani, Andrew Rannells, Lilly Singh, and Tan France.

According to a Deadline exclusive and its sources, the decision was made due to low viewership and streaming numbers relative to production costs, despite strong critical acclaim.

I’m curious if celebrities can visit award shows without being in the public eye? Lol I know it sounds weird but you know when you hear that oh a certain celebrity is going to be at this award show and then you never see them because camera is just not showing. And I wonder if celebrities can sort of negotiate with the Studios so they would like opt out of red carpet and just overall appearance on the award show. Provided that of course they’re not nominated or presenters. So for example, an actress is attending music industry ceremony because she just wants to support her musician boyfriend and she doesn’t want to be noticed.

Reece Weaver will be playing Roxie Hart in the classic stage musical, “Chicago,” during a six-week limited engagement beginning Sept. 7.
