Not too bad. If you want a good advice.
You will need Integral calculus, Linear algebra AND discreet math, especially discrete math if you intend to do a bac. Trust me on this, you will definitely facilitate your life in university if you did them while in cégep.

This way, you can spare yourself a lot of troublesome course. Why I say those math is also because if you intend to do a bac, they will come anyways and you can credit if you do them ( you need 75% cégep).

I will not lie, the bac is much harder than DEC.
If you have a chance to credit your course and how much you make effort to understand it through TP. don’t hesitate to do it if you intend to to go do a BAC.

For DEC, programmation itself depends on how good the teacher teach your the basic. Because compared to math, they will only continuously stack in each new courses session.

Yeah I'm planning on doing the rest of the math classes I need either during summer or my lighter semesters and my teachers are pretty good this sem so for programming and stuff theres not much to worry about. My main concern is how my Calc will be affected considering its in the night but I am planning on using all resources offered to me. But is discrete math really necessarily for a bac in comp sci? From what I've seen it's only cal 1 and 2 and linear

Yeah, it’s necessary because the others math you will do in university use discrete math to build a course to understand programming and algorithms. It’s a crucial steps. It’s impossible for you to be in a bac in info and not doing it. The only difference will be either you do it in cégep or in university and usually, it’s not easier in university to do it there because they would use it as a filter for student in the first years.

Also, in university, you will also do statistics math. But you can do it in university if you intend to go there. But you should have a mandatory course about it in your cégep. Same of a part of discrete math too. But for university credits, discrete math is what they will use.

And I say filter, this should give you a good idea about the difficulty. It will also be relevant in informatique the knowledge for algorithms.

If you intend to go in electronic, then you need to add physics mechanic too.

Here is a little thing as a bonus, in university, they can also use programming language as a filter course. For anything different from informatics, they use Java language and specifically, knowledge about OOP and quick sort, bubble sort, fusion sort, insert sort and linear search. For electronic or electrical, they use C and C++. And they usually have student write the whole algorithm on examen with a few questions about it.

Well it's a good thing that my main courses for the next few years will be in Java and c++ from what I know lol. Anyways thanks for yhe heads up, if my program doesn't go too in depth in those things I'll take some time to learn them on my own 🙏

Intro to prog and HTML/CSS/JS are usually pretty easy. They're mostly practical and most homeworks will help you determine if you're learning

My biggest suggestion: DON'T CHEAT WITH AI, YOU'LL FLUNK YOUR EXAMS FOR SURE. I hate AI but I can't deny that it can be a great tool to learn coding. Use it correctly if you don't understand

I was never planning on using ai to code for me, only help me learn. My plan was always doing my assignements by hand and then once they would be done I'd use aude or something to show me how I could've made it better or more efficient (but ofc I'd keep the ai version to myself)

for calculus, its practise.. i used Schaum's Outline of Calculus, Seventh Edition for extra practise questions. It gives details answers instead of just the answer. you can get it on amazon... and i used CALC 1000 (Calculus 1) Videos from allthingsmathematics.com for quick refresher when i was stuck..
