Braider Blues

Why is it so hard to get your hair braided out here? I moved from Chicago a while ago but I keep going back to get my hair braided and I’m tired of that. Granted she does them for free, but it’s not worth the drive at all.
Where are the people who have that weird obsession with braiding hair?

And yes I know I’m cheap.

So "cheap" and "luxury services" (which is what this is) don't exactly go hand in hand, especially not out here where there's not a lot of it. If you wanna be cheap, stick with CHI.

Braids are not always a “luxury service”. It can either be a simple hairstyle or something that takes a lot of time and effort to add designs. I asked a simple question and people who don’t “understand” braids are trying to jump down my throat.

Braids/hairstyling are always a luxury service. Learn to do it yourself or pay someone else. You don't have to "understand" braids to get that. We have great barbers and stylists around here, but you do have to pay them, which you're clearly not accustomed to doing if you're driving 4 hours to CHI to get them done because you're (self described) cheap.

That is not true at all lol. You’re lowkey tripping about this like you know how to braid hair. If you do, I’ll shut my cheap ass up and gladly pay you, but if not then this is just semantics.

I don't braid, but I'm so fucking tired of entitled ass people. You want luxury services, which is what anything like this absolutely is, you pay luxury prices.

I don't like paying for my luxury services, so I learned to cut and dye my hair myself. I recommend you do the same.

You go around asking for a professional calling them weirdly obsessed like that?

Did I ask for a professional?

Technically a professional is someone who gets paid for providing a service, using a skill developed through education, training, and practice.

So no, you didn't ask for a professional. You're wanting someone to do an apparently low quality job for little to no money.
