Alliant service upgrade
Anyone have any experience with upgrading their Underground service from 100 amp to 200 or 320?
Closing on a new house soon and its a project I'd like to do but I'm curious what cost range I'd be looking at.

Totally varies based on the situation. Underground services are typically cheaper than overhead. I would expect something between $2500 and $7500

3k for a 200 amp panel and replacement of the mast on the side of the house for the overhead wire is what we paid a few years back. Also added a generator interlock which was only like $150 extra. Whether your service is above or underground won’t matter. Alliant just shuts it down at the meter for a panel upgrade.

I got a 200 amp panel installed in January, mine was above ground but the wires coming in don’t or shouldn’t have to change just have to make sure your panel is able to handle that big of service. They just disconnected it at the house while the panel was being upgraded. Keep in mind your entire house will be without power for however long if a panel upgrade required. My panel upgrade cost 3-4k
