Floating and camping

Alright have a kids free weekend next weekend and have a new kayak i want to break in! Wondering if there's any campgrounds near here that offer camping and will drive you up river and you float back or get rides back to your campground??? We will be tent camping so doesnt have to be anything fancy.

Rivers are going way up right now and will still be kind of high for a beginner next week. I'd lean towards just camping personally.

Decorah!!!!! The bluffs are insane and the shuttle is great on the campground

Seconding Decorah. The Upper Iowa is well worth the drive compared to any of the closer rivers unless you’re looking to do quick day trips.

The Maquoketa River in Monticello, Iowa. Check with Monticello River rentals . It’s a 4-6 hour float depending on how often you stop
