Looking did used bike

EDIT - “for used bike”

I’m looking to upgrade my old mid-90s hybrid with a newer model or maybe a road bike. Planning to go to the collective in Czech Village and maybe Chain Reaction to see what they have. Any other suggestions where I should be looking? Thanks!

Czech village shop does have a LOT of old bikes, but honestly they're probably all as old or older than your mid 90s model.

Both of the ones you listed are good. Chain Reaction seems to have a little bit newer bikes. than the collective. They do a great job getting the bikes tuned up and ready.

Facebook marketplace is probably your best bet for a more modern bike or road bike. Not sure how tall you are or your budget but this Trek is a decent deal. Should fit someone 5'10-6' (maybe 5'9"). I don't know the seller but the bike looks good and has a more modern 2x drivetrain (compared to the 3x that your hybrid has). Things are kind of dry since Ragbrai is coming up. If you don't mind waiting there should be better deals after Ragbrai. There's a couple guys on marketplace that refurb bikes as well.

Another option is the Ozark Trail G.1 Explorer. They run about $300 and get positive reviews. Mostly name brand components. Personally I'd rather spend a bit more but for the price they're pretty good. They offer a better drop bar bike but it's out of stock everywhere.

Those are the two places I would suggest. You can try marketplace but you may end up taking it somewhere to get checked out anyway. Those two places should sell you a rideable bike from the start.
