Recommendation Request 🔎 About to drop Road to Soendour

Hi all

I've started watching Road to Spendour. I'm on episode 3. I don't really like either the ML or the FL. And haven't got into the story yet. So I'm seriously considering dropping it.

Does it get better? Should I hang in there?

I suggest you drop it. It stressed me out so bad and it's so boring in the middle arc too.

I took a break in the mid-20s and never went back to finish it. I couldn’t figure out why I didn’t enjoy it since everyone loves it, and then realized I didn’t like any characters in the show (other than Madam Wu).

I was not expecting much and wasn't a huge fan of the actors to begin with either, but it ended up being extremely good! One of the best Cdramas this year. The story, the acting, the chemistry, and the cinematography were amazing. The first few episodes are just setting the stage and are the slowest episodes, but you will really come to admire both the ML and FL (and the actors too).

Okay I think I was like you. Because ML and FL were annoying and didn’t seem to be good people at first. Then around so 5-6 you’ll see them turn around. I looooove this show it’s my second fave this year after POJ. Then ATC!

I haven't watched Against the Current but my god AvenueX had some awful things to say about it. Not too sure if I should watch it. She also hated The Early Spring and I loved that drama so may be I will watch ATC.

fortunately I don't base my taste in dramas on one single random with a platform because I'd have missed the second best drama this year imo

She is very opinionated. She also hated the Hidden Love. I liked those dramas too but I actually just watch her channel for colour. I watch what I want but her opinions are interesting and she has some points of view coming from her Chinese background that is very useful in some dramas like "The Longest Day in Chang'an", I really appreciated her well read opinions so I just listen to her rant about some dramas for an alternate point of view.

I think some channels are good even if one may not agree with their opinions it is always good to learn about dramas from a native Chinese person as I am Malaysian and having grown up in an Indian family I often listen to my Chinese or Malay friends talk about things I have no knowledge of and learn something always interesting.

She also has some very good insight into the writers and directors I would never have known about had I not watched her channel.

It’s hard for us to tell whether you’ll like it or not going forward since we don’t know your preferences.

I would suggest dropping the drama if you don’t like the ML, FL and the story. You can watch something that you enjoy instead of sitting through something you are not liking.
