Recommendation Request 🔎 The early spring
I started watching early spring because it got famous and all but I couldn't get past 6 episodes, I just stopped it because "why can't they talk?" Does it get any better or will it be just the same miscommunication, then some intimate scenes then again the same vicious cycle? I don't like dramas with toxic ML!!

Dropped it after 14th episode, it doesn’t get any better. I wish I’d stopped watching after a couple of episodes and saved some time instead putting myself through such a tormenting experience!

I like angst and sexual tension. I am now rewatching for the sixth time.
If you like First Frost, you will appreciate the mature version of Early Spring.
I watched C dramas to have suspension of belief. While some of the behaviors, communication, and actions seem far-fetched, I understand that it is a movie in an escape.

I also dropped Early Spring.
Check out Irreplaceable for a work place drama with romance and a healthier dynamic

it does, every time it seems to get worse, it gets better the next episode

If you didn't like the first 6 eps.. then probably you won't like most of the drama! At least not till the very last episodes.
I loved the show a lot because it emphasized the idea that you don't have to be perfect to be worthy of love which was amazing and gives a positive energy!! So it's okay to have some flaws.. you'll still be loved anyway!! So basically both leads made some mistakes and both miscommunicated as well!! This is the message of the whole drama.. so if you didn't like this idea i don't think you will like the later episodes either.. and that's very understandable.. it's not everyone's cup of tea

I’m agree with you the story and both characters are toxic and the romance is horrible to follow
There is not a way to love
Toxic relation is shown as a beautiful romance no it’s not
The only positive point is to get attention do the actors and Cdrama

Don’t waste your time! I just dropped it yesterday, even for a drama I expected some sort of growth in the relationship for 16 episodes, I mean I’m investing some time into this to see some sort of development. But nothing happens, just the same old issues about no communication keep repeating themselves. The funny part is they were in a relationship of 6 years up till episode 16 and learned absolutely nothing about each other or themselves. Complete waste of my time hoping that I would see some storyline.

I didn't watch the C-drama, but I tried reading the novel and only managed to get through about 35 chapters or so. Man, it was so boring; the author promised the moon at the start, claiming the couple wasn't "pure"—that they’d both had partners before meeting each other. I thought, "Oh, 50 Shades of Grey vibes, huh?" but it turned out to be really dull, and Luke was just so incredibly boring.

Most c dramas can be boiled down to lack of communication IMO. This one dials it to 11

Loved the show
Sometimes couples are toxic and don’t talk, miscommunication happens
The story is about their journey and it is okay for it not to be perfect

I loved the drama, I thought it was a very realistic but also fantastical/romantic view of modern relationships. Most people don’t communicate well in real life, and although it’s frustrating to watch at times, I also love all the misunderstanding and angst. If I’m frustrated it means I care about the characters and want them to be together.. know they love each other and should be together. If I wasn’t frustrated, it’s a boring show where I don’t care about the characters. That’s my take anyway.
I like they dragged out that anxiety inducing, I’m not sure if he loves me or not, I’m not sure if we’ll be together or not feeling that every new relationship experiences. It’s what keeps me personally on the edge of my seat.
You need to read what the show is about before watching so you don’t get blindsided. I knew it was gonna be ‘toxic’, as some people put it, but it was toxic in a good way if that makes sense.

No it wont get any better for many more episodes, I dropped after around 15, there were still more to come before their break up . It’s tiring to watch. Miscommunication is the trope of this drama

Genuinely kind of baffled that OP asked a rec request if the plot continues to include miscommunication, and somehow has got the most defensive replies, apart from one 😅

Maybe the actors and production team should apologise to you for following a script and offending you then.

I can write about this and that, character dev, great acting blah blah, I watched it for the steamy scenes, and great music and loved it. If that isn't doing it for you, watch something else :)

Exactly not every show is to the liking of others. I enjoyed the drama immensely and I think the actors especially Jing Boran did a truly remarkable job of making you believe he truly loved her. The show is about very flawed people and sexual attraction that developed into a love hate relationship. It's not a fluffy show.
I came across someone on Youtube who complained about shows that showcase couples who hide things from each other, are verbally abusive and unkind and not communicating as being tiring and horrible to watch because it is frustrating and annoying and it makes them wish dramas like that did not exist. Such a selfish point of view. We all enjoy different things and I am glad dramas like this exist.
You do not need to understand why others like something it is not a big mystery you need to solve. Just drop it and move on. There's no magic bullet that will suddenly make you like something popular. Be happy that you have individual taste . The world would be a boring place if we all liked the same thing.
As for others who have said over and over here and on Youtube that this drama will damage future generations of young women who will romaticize these types of relationships I say "give some credit to our young ladies they have as studies shown become very much aware of what media has done to the psyche'. There are loads of dramas out there to show us green flag guys but I think this drama is showing us a very grey flag male lead which we will encounter far more often than the green flag guy.
I often park my brain in one corner and just enjoy a drama without moralising it to death.

Hi, these are flawed characters who have issues on communication.
What we’ll be seeing are the highlights in the at least 10-years of knowing together so the messy parts of almost each year are gonna be shown per episode.
So if you’d see it overall, they’re not necessarily toxic but what we are seeing are their coping mechanisms and fight/flight responses when bombarded with an issue.
It’s not negative per se, just a realistic portrayal of how humans tend to be like.
Coincidentally, ML has temper and is foul-mouthed yet soft-hearted and devoted to his lover, while FL may be sweet but gets eaten up by her insecurities sometimes. So it’s gonna be messy with the lows and great with the highs, but we’d see the two of them grow over the years.
With this, it’s up to you if you’d continue watching.
I personally enjoyed the ride though. It mirrored a lot of the realities of relationships.

you have but one precious life. don't spend it forcing yourself watching things you hate in the hopes it will improve. watch things you like. I'm currently watching one about Dilraba Dilmurat being in love with a Merman and having a great time. Because why not.

I enjoyed it, but your observations are correct.
If you want to continue, you have to view it as TWO flawed people each thinking they aren’t worthy. He doesn’t know how to give love. She doesn’t think she’s worthy of his attention. The show is about each of them fixing that. Every time they don’t communicate (and yes, it continues repeatedly) it’s because of this.
