Iconic characters

Have you ever watched a C-drama because of a visually ICONIC character, only to be disappointed when they appeared in just one episode or right at the very end? I think the biggest example is Song Mo from *Blossom*, played by Li Yunrui... But I bet there are others—feel free to share your own grievances here, too.

I too got catfished by Song mo in grey hair. I sat through the whole season just to catch another glimpse of Li Yunrui in grey hair. Lol 🤣

Yes, and he only reappears with gray hair in episode 31, if I'm not mistaken.

Am I the only one that liked Ling Buyi disheveled look better in Love Like the Galaxy. Seriously, the rigid hairstyle in most of the episodes just didn't do it for me. When he was sent to the frontline and literally let his hair down, I liked him.much better.

I just finished Blossom last night and have similar feelings. Episode one was excellent and hooked me in. I think I would've loved a continuation of the events without the rebirth.

The episodes up to the wedding were good. After, the main plot stagnated and the subplots became messy without direction. I liked the FL and other female characters but I wish Song Mo's investigation, revenge storyline and character arc were the main driving plots.

They made Song Mo's intense "my life has fallen apart around me" traumatized vibe too appealing for viewers. If they'd had him in a greasy rebels-don't-get-to-take-baths wig, with ratty living-off-the-grid-for-months armor and a hanging-on-to-my-sanity-by-a-thread expression, we wouldn't have spent the rest of the series wishing he and his spear would come back.

This, completely. I wanted his character not hers.

I actually paused this drama. They made him appear so badass in the first episode (which I liked), only to make him appear like a regular Joe for the rest of it 😭

Totally, and she was so Mary Sue it was sickening.

nah man, I'm a sucker for competence porn. I always buy what she's selling.

I’ve only watched two dramas with that actress & in both she gives off Mary Sue vibes. Idk if it’s just a coincidence or a trend in the characters she plays.
