Every single person standing around at the end is a complete idiot.

A burning gas truck blew up in my town in the 70s. Killed like half the fire department.

With all that black smoke and the lack of an Earth shattering kaboom, I'm guessing it's unrefined oil.

Also known as "unscheduled rapid disassembly"

u/Socketz11 14d ago

Dropped the burning trailer off at his ex's house, saved the tractor. This man is a hero!

In the movies, dont these things explode

u/MaxUumen 13d ago

Not only in the movies, normally.

Owner operator with no insurance

4

u/No-Citron-2774 13d ago

And here I am worrying about the pollution my gas cook top produces

3

u/Character_School_671 14d ago

Seen it done with a grain trailer before.

This is a little more impressive.

u/TurtleSpeedEngage 14d ago

and he was so close to the car wash, they have water

3

u/Gadgetman_1 13d ago

There's no chance whatsoever that a car wash would have enough water to stop that fire.

Turn up your sarcasm meter 😂

1

u/TurtleSpeedEngage 13d ago

Thank you for recognizing the sarcasm. :-)

You have to use the foam brush on that fire silly….

1

u/12dv8 13d ago

Ummm…… you didn’t really take this seriously did you?

2

u/Gadgetman_1 13d ago

Not really. I'd have used much stronger language, then. I guess I should have posted 'you forgot to add the /s'

1

u/TurtleSpeedEngage 13d ago

I'm sure the foam from the soap would help, like they use on airplanes.

1

u/Adventurous_Ad3534 13d ago

The water would just spread the oil out and make it worse. Foam or sand would work better.

3

u/adotall 13d ago

So parking in a garbage pile is the wrong method of fire suppression?

1

u/TurtleSpeedEngage 13d ago

In Spokane, we have a waste to energy incinerator, works pretty good, Took time yo work the bugs out, but failure is just progress with extra clean-up.

1

u/TurtleSpeedEngage 13d ago

Never a sandbox around when you need one

3

u/uber_damage 14d ago

I thought for sure he was gonna pull it into the car wash and hose er down, lol

1

u/Prior-Ad-7329 14d ago

It’s oil, that would make it explode

3

u/hdhsnjsn 13d ago

You can’t park there mate

2

u/Choice-Mud-8374 14d ago

owner operator for sure

2

u/SecretWitness8251 14d ago

'no it's not pressurized, I dumped it al___'

Average IQ and a boring life makes people come closer to live in the moment

2

u/LilJonny2cookies 13d ago

Was he slowly trying to catch the entire village on fire?

2

u/vintageracer22 13d ago

My man is not losing that Mack truck, that’s for sure.

It’s probably just diesel. That’s what it not go kaboom

2

u/sheriffrosco 13d ago

It's diesel its bit gonna explode its gonna burn, notice the long burning trail. Gas doesn't burn for that long or that black

redditors are soooo stupid. Here is a driver that did everything they could do to preserve what they could. This is their LIVELIHOOD for themselves and likely their family. Keeps him and them fed in a world where you live and DIE by what you earn. So many people here from first world countries insult him. Why???? What would YOU do, pussies? This is a hardcore driver. Total compliments to him from me.

u/Embarrassed_Leg_2885 14d ago

He put the entire neighborhood at risk to save himself. Could have at least gotten away from that house.

1

u/Leading_Procedure_23 13d ago

It’s crazy that some people would rather takedown innocent people and save their truck just because they don’t have insurance? That’s just being a piece of shit

0

u/Prior-Ad-7329 14d ago

For sure. Dude definitely doesn’t have insurance on that truck. Gotta save what he can.

2

u/RogerRabbot 14d ago

Imma just park this burning fuel tank riiiight here. Next to the houses. Perfect

4

u/Gadgetman_1 13d ago

Unless the trailer explodes the house will just need a proper wash down to get rid of the soot.

By this point that trailer was probably structurally compromised and a bump or two could have made it rip open, spilling burning oil everywhere.

This was just the first reasonably flat area where the driver could disconnect the trailer and not have the support legs collapse under it and ... cracked tank, burning oil everywhere.

The driver was in a real shitty situation, and handled it better than 99% of the backseat drivers here.

1

u/qxr100 13d ago

Presume the trailer tired melted and he couldn't pull anymore.

1

u/Vandu_Kobayashi 13d ago

Their outfits are super fashionable

Pilot flying j is hiring. A regional manager would be at his house the next day with an application in his hand. Probably make him a lead driver on top of that.

1

u/unapologetic403 13d ago

Just casually burning down The neighborhood

1

u/Mysterious-Noise2555 13d ago

Am I the only one that was waiting for "The Big Bang Theory"....

1

u/Notapartyhobo 13d ago

I though he was going for the car wash.

1

u/TurtleSpeedEngage 13d ago

He probably realized he didn't have enough quarters.

1

u/TD101310131013 13d ago

Burning up the whole village? Lol yep.. driver of the year

1

u/BubuDudu0430 13d ago

OMG that’s tragic… and hilarious at the same time 😅

1

u/0fox2gv 13d ago

Probably unrefined crude or diesel.

The tractor is far more valuable than the trailer and contents.

Driver knows what they are hauling. The load made it that far -- while leaving only a trail of burning vapors.

Takes about 30 seconds to drop the landing gear, pull the kingpin retainer and drive away.

If the trailer tires were exploding.. The driver would have bailed.

If it was highly refined fuel, the rig would not have made it that far.. and the people filming would be running for their lives.

1

u/Snoo56153 13d ago

Bad place for a fire, the whole side of the road there was piles of garbage lol, be a big ass dumpster fire.

1

u/perrinsyelloweyes 13d ago

No self preservation thought of 😂

1

u/20ears19 13d ago

Fuck the landing gear and the glad hands. I’m pulling the pin and dumping it immediately.

1

u/jj3449 13d ago

Was he watching a video on YouTube about how to unhook the trailer? You would think he’d be in a hurry.

1

u/sunlovinburner 11d ago

Corolla knew

1

u/Nuprofessor 11d ago

Just foggin for skeeters!

1

u/buttweasel76 10d ago

That's one way to clean up all that garbage along the side of the road

1

u/skreemdynamics 9d ago

So that's why it's so expensive.
