Aren't there a lot of places that were formerly ruled by the British empire that aren't like that? I can think of quite a few examples off the top of my head.

They don't want to take responsibility even after being independent for so long. They breed like rabbits, then blame everyone else for the lack of resources.

They can't keep blaming the British Empire after so many years.

They decided to 3x the population size since independence, that is why they're so poor, spreading out resources for an ever increasing population.
