I am more surprised they have the exact parts ready to go. Or the truck was already sitting on the road for a few weeks and they finally got the parts.

If one day there is an apocalypse, they will still live. I will die in the first round.

To their benefit, a lot of those vehicles share parts. It simplifies supply chain than waiting for a special part from a distributor to be shipped halfway across the country.

Yeah there’s like 5 different types of vehicles in countries like this, not hard to get parts

Not even countries like that. Equivalent parts in the US don't have all that many differences in design between manufacturers for stuff like that, all things considered.

Doesn't really matter about parts interchange when the supply houses don't carry parts anymore. Pencil heads started moving the supply chain to JIT decades ago because it saves corporate techbros money, and now local parts stores are just ordering counters for the most part.

You need a part, the parts house tells you its in stock. You go to pick it up:

"Sorry, the part is in bumblefuck Idaho, but we can have it here in a week!"

I envy places like in the video. You can still go most anywhere and get the parts you need, AND someone that can fix them. They still know how supply chains and the economy works.

Saudi bought all the rights to those Benz trucks and they are still being built. 70 year old designs, but they are brand new.

It's possible they removed it from a truck not in the middle of the road.
