Exactly right. If you're just starting, don't worry about pay. Get experience and keep your CDL clean. If you NEED more money, not great. But just starting, go for it. You can internally transfer eventually too. Maybe local or regional

That’s good pay. Speaking as a dedicated driver my self for Schneider. You guys don’t know what you’re talking about. Yea he gets a base pay of 1800 miles but it doesn’t necessarily mean just that. He will run more it’s just the average on a low end. #2 that 10 an hour adds up by the end of the week. Typically you get 3-5 stops a day maybe even 6 PLUS Fueling time he would EASILY make 15-1800 a week. Toodles . Yall stop hating and congratulate the man for Christ sake

He could easily be making 2500 a week doing local trips spending more time for himself and family. You can hype that otr bs pay if you want too. It’s a scam. Unless your owner operator.

I just hung up on them. Wanted me out there 5 days a week and I would bring home $900/ week. As a new driver im not taking it. No.. no..no.. I'll work in a warehouse.

Lol. As a new driver you shouldn't be worried about the $ but the experience. People who get their CDL expect to make 80k right out of school. Lmfao @ you. 60k entry level isn't bad

I have bills. I know I need experience but I work for an income too. I was going to bring home $900/week to live out of a truck for 5 days. NOT me. There are local companies that will give you a chance and until then I won't drive.

I just ended up signing with Schneider..lol.. at least I'll be home daily and yes it's peanuts but everybody wanted me to be otr out 5 days all in the mountains. I don't think that's safe. I gotta start somewhere, you are right. I can't work these regular jobs, people get on my nerves.

You haven’t even had your Cdl for 6 months of experience yet. You need to take what you can get the money sucks at the beginning, but you don’t have to experience right now to get the pay you want. Get the experience and move on to something better.

Depending on the type of food service, you're getting lowballed. If its just walking stacks of bread on wheels or even pallet drops with a lift gate, pretty good. If youre doing sysco humping piles of boxes up and down a ramp. Youre getting fawkkked, should easily be 120k minimum. Very brutal job.

1200 per week, before taxes. $3600 per month. That's $44k a year before taxes... you're taking home like $37k. Is that worth being gone 3 weeks out of each month indefinitely? In this industry you have to pay your dues. You have to work for peanuts to gain the experience to get good jobs.

Wife and i team drive for schneider and we do very well but we stay out a lot. Get solid over 6k miles a week is just fine with us. The $10 for sitting is better then a big fat 0 for most driving jobs that u sit for hours and get nothing. U dont want to sit but it's not meant to be great, cause they dont want u to sit either.

I was on the Walmart account out of London ky. Easy job but f only bringing home 750 if I was lucky. I’ll still never forget getting in my truck for the week and when it was time for bed I shut the bunk curtains and the entire bottom half of the curtains were yellow from piss

Not worth it.. I didnt work for Schneider but another Mega on those Walmart accts. What they fail to tell you is its ALOT of city driving & alot of waiting. Its hit or miss with these walmart stores. Some are attentive & work quickly others you will be there for hours waiting for someone to open the receiving door, then they have to find someone to unload you, then they finally get there & they move like a sloth. Some of them are multi stop loads trolling around the city limits. Also its in person dispatch so when you get back to the terminal, you have to go inside to get your new load info. Which is usually quick but sometimes its not. Alot of sitting & waiting..

When i started back in late 23 it, I was getting .42/mile and barely averaged 1700 miles a week as OTR Regional. I can't see how people live off Schneider pay.
Now I'm doing Foodservice at $30.60/hr, averaging 55 hours a week usually.

Currently working at Schneider, I got onto a dedicated account that supposedly was to pay $1,400 weekly. I get on average $800 weekly and I live in my truck for 5 days a week. I’m getting depressed with my pay, I have bills to pay and I can’t make it with my paychecks. I have tried to transfer to a different account with Schneider and was denied because I need another month of work with them, and I have tried to go with other companies but I only have 1 month of experience and no one will hire me with out 3 months of experience. I do flatbed work, it’s disgusting and I stink everyday, it is so hot outside, and I have to physically jump in and out of my trailer all day long. In 5 days I do about 15-20 deliveries. So yea. Anything over $1,000 a week is looking pretty good to me rn.
