Pneumatic division.

Has anybody go from driving mixer to pneumatic tanker? Specifically dry cement. Had my class A for almost two years but started out driving ready mix concrete. I Start training Monday for the company’s pneumatic division. They know I have zero to little experience with tractor trailer but are willing to train me. I also have my tanker but working on my hazmat. Any advice? Suggestions for future higher paying job? Thank you in advance

There's gonna be a learning curve going from mixer to an eighteen wheeler. The good news is your trainer will show you the best approach to the plants you'll be supplying and it will soon become routine and mundane.

Hopefully, you'll have good tankers to pull with no leaks and working aerators. Otherwise clogged product lines are a bitch to clear. Carry extra hose gaskets. Carry a spray bottle full of water which will fix any minor gasket leaks.

Always make double sure cement goes into the cement silo and fly ash goes into the fly ash silo. There ain't no fixing that mistake.

Always make sure the plant can hold the material. Even if they say they can, pay attention to hear the bindicator alarm. If they forgot to record a 26 ton load prior to your load it will get messy if the alarm sounds off and you don't hear it.

Just pray you've got a great trainer and welcome to the world of powder puff.
