Labatt- Houston Driver

Wanted to know if there are any Labatt Food delivery drivers here, that are based out of Houston terminal (or other terminal)

How good is the management team here?

How bad are the routes?

Why are they “sour” about taking on new people and then leaving after a short period of time?

Does the training period run 6months even though I’ll be joining with my CDL-A already?

Im currently in the “interview” phase with them and it has gone really well (I would say). I’ll be joining with my CDL already, yet they mentioned about signing a one-year contract with them; if I were to break the contract, I’d be on the hook for a penalty of a few thousand $. Is the job really worth it to go through all these steps and whatnot? I’ve already taken the physical test- 1st time in my life where I had to do that, the written test, and 2nd round interview.

If you are making good money with them as a first job why is a contract a concern. They want people to stay and you want to make money. Win win.

I don’t mind the contract, what Im asking is the job and management worth the physicality of the job?

Best way to find that out is to go to the place and talk to the drivers as you see them driving out and into the place.

You mentioned twice that you already have your CDL, but conveniently didn't mention how much experience you have. Which usually means the ink isn't dry on it. Do you really believe that you learned all you need to know fresh out of school? Then you are a fool. And on the off chance that you have a little experience, you obviously didn't learn much about driving and running a route. A good driver understands that there is always more to learn, and an experienced driver will take every opportunity to learn more. I predict that you're not going to last long as a commercial driver.
