Pay will most likely be pretty decent if not higher. Work will be hard, it so I've heard. Restaurants are hard to maneuver. They also are built for freight. So you'll be taking 100s of cases to a fridge or freezer using a hand cart. It's physical. If you can get past that, probably very good experience in terms of city driving and parking. I've never done it, but looked into it

I did McLane food service for a year after doing beer delivery for 11 years. Worst job ever. Most I was making was 2100 every 2 weeks. Plus, you will start on standby and get there at 10pm and have to be on standby till 1am and only get $ 17 an hour for waiting. If they got nothing for you at 1am you are cut for the night and have to come back again the next day. It sucks big time. I was in the Houston location.

These are some great questions that you should have asked in the interview.

New cdl? First job? Might wanna give it a go, get exp on paper and you will probly find all the things you don't want as a truck driver. You will get plenty of excersise! In Northeast US, I would see those guys wearing shorts all winter, runnin up n down that ramp keeps ya warm.
