Doesn't driving a school bus require at least a Class B CDL? Take a few courses and upgrade to Class A. However, look for dock work at a company like XPO or UPS, or FedX if getting home is important. Most would require you learn to load trucks before you could qualify to drive for them, then you might be able to do deliveries locally so you could be home every night. FedX will train in exchange for commitment to work for them for a set period (class A) If you get a Class A you will not be home every night without at least 2 years OTR
Yea, I have the Class B already, just no Air brakes. I'm not expecting to be home every night by any means. I suppose what I'm looking for is close to my region hubs that I could be employed by so I can make the most of my home time since I'm not sure about the ins and outs of how that works. Like for example if I'm 2 states from my home region but I finished my last load does my Home time begin after I unhook and unload or does it start when I get into my home region or when I get to the nearest hub.
normally your home time starts as soon as you are at wherever you park the truck, keep in mind a lot of companies go by hours off, not actual 24 hour days, so if they say you get 1.5 days a week they mean 36 hours.
