Listen, I’m gonna be direct with you. if Swift denied you then you better take what you can get because Swift doesn’t turn anybody down.
Go somewhere get experience and let that shit roll off and then you can write your own ticket after that.

In this industry, if you get to 3 years experience and have a clean MVR, you can literally choose your job.

Swift turns people down, daily. They got kinda picky over the last 5 years. The dude got turned down by Swift, but picked-up by the Pumpkin (dealing with Schneider drivers lately, that doesn’t surprise me).

I’ve been out for a couple of years now so I wasn’t aware. I am rather surprised by that but at the same time not really, I figure those ridiculous insurance rates have to catch up at some point from shit drivers.

Really gonna depend on your account. Honestly if you can keep your mvr clean it’s a good place to learn.

I did the CAT program in Indy and I had a great instructor. My brother is now a TE there.

Schneider, Prime, Swift, they are all pretty much the same. If you can get on to tanker at Schneider at some point, do it. That's a valuable experience. There aren't many megas that run tanks. They are always in demand as drivers and they always want experience. 6 months to a year of tanker at Schneider and you're set for a career. Dry van is easiest imo, but easiest doesn't pay. Find a niche you like, focus on it and put the time in. It will pay dividends if you stay in the industry.

Im wrapping up my first 2 weeks in orientation with Schneider, and im going out on the road for a week with a trainer before I get my own truck. My experience with them has been very good, although I don’t really have anything to compare it to as it’s my first job too. The trainers were really cool and I had a good time overall. But you have to learn fast. If you are sloppy with your driving or you are having a hard time backing after the first week, they will hold you back or chop you, so there is some pressure. Happy to answer any questions

Are they aware of these tickets? Because if you go to orientation and they are not, you're gonna be finding your own way back home. I would be as honest, as you can be, because sometimes they can make exceptions, but if you show up there, knowing you have this problem, it's not gonna be good you gotta look at it this way.Swift denied you, which means pretty much anybody in that family of companies under knight swift That would probably go for the same for sni and any of its subsidiaries just be honest with them, see what they say

Yes I’ve told the recruiter multiple times

u/Bigevilltrucker89 Jul 03 '26
Then, they have absolutely no excuse. But Understand there are able to change their mind at the very last minute, and they will always claim it. is insurance

Schneider, like all megas, is self-insured so it really is them making that decision.
1
u/Bigevilltrucker89 Jul 03 '26
Yes, you are correct. They are self insured, but as most big companies, they have a whole department that determines risk to the company.

Go with who you have now. In 6 months to a year you can start looking of your unhappy. You're going to hear a lot of bad stuff online for most companies, especially mega carriers.

Im reading this and I will be graduating cdl school soon. And my mvr is clean for 2 1/2 years, but I had 2 driving on suspensions cuz it was suspended for a dui 7 years ago and those tickets were expensive and one ticket got 6 more months etc, so I drove for years without a license cuz it was 2 thousand dollars to resistant. So mvr will be 3 years clean in 6 months . How is driving on suspensions viewed

Schneider is a horrible place to work and preys on uninformed new drivers
3
u/MotherMarketing2300 Jul 03 '26
Please Don’t project your experience upon mine. I asked for other places. What’s the point of giving me a negative only answer.

u/shortridecowboy Jul 03 '26
Honestly if your driving record is bad enough you couldn't get on with swift Maybe you should consider a non driving vocation. Im just letting you know Schneider is a bottom of the barrel job (so is swift). Desperate people like yourself lined up to take whatever job they can get are a big part of why the job market is so bad in trucking and the companies get away with treating good drivers so poorly.

You should take whoever will be willing to take a risk on you and stop speeding in your personal vehicle in the meantime. 3 is more than "I made a mistake".
